I really should manage to do this on my own, but i guess I'm having trouble with it.

I want to make a straight melee build. NOT THAT HARD. But my problem is this, I REALLY like Goliaths, and most of my various creative ideas and concepts have to do with Goliaths (or a goliath-like character). Goliaths have a +1 l.a. I want to make a barbarian/goliath paragon/fighter (for bonus feats). But i never seem to have enough starting levels for that. I'd like a way around this. I DONT want ppl to tell me to find a campaign with a higher starting level, or suggest other races or classes.

Either you have your DM homebrew a goliath with weaker stats and no LA, or have him handwave the LA/level issue entirely, or you find a game with a higher starting level. There is no other way around this, if you want to remain in the confines of the rules.

What is your plan? My guess is that you can make do without the fighter bonus feats and take fewer levels in fighter. You can use flaws (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/variant/buildingCharacters/characterFlaws.htm) to make up the feat loss.

I believe that THIS (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/variant/races/reducingLevelAdjustments.htm) is what you're looking for.

So, ill use flaws, and take less fighter levels, and use the level adjustment reduction if my DM allows it. That handles about 3 levels.

Whats buyback?

Buy backs are as they say: You effectively "buy" back your levels you lose with Level Adjustments.

There a few feats that allow specific races to "lose" the LA (tieflings, aasimars, etc). Mayhaps you can find one of those and adjust it to Goliath (natural AC, "large" size for purpose of grapple, etc)
