Hey all  I'm off camping for the week tommorrow (technically today now) and am wondering about whether I should go to bed...

We'll be leaving the house in about 6 hours to get supplies and stuff... so that at 7amish... I woke up at 1:30pm today, its now 1:10am... I've been up for less then 12 hours...

So should I go to bed or just stay up all night? Once we got out in the morning I'll be fine and won't fall asleep, but if I go now I may not be able to get up in the morning...

What do I do?

Sleep. If you have trouble getting up in the morning, that's what caffeine is for.

But I hate coffee (and Im wary about Coke in the morning)... and even if I didn't I still need to get to it which is a problem as my room is situated away from the kitchen...

Well, if you have time to go out and get something, there are countless other caffeinated beverages you could use, many of which don't taste too bad when warm after sitting out of the fridge for an entire night. Most energy drinks, for example, don't taste any worse when they aren't cold. Of course, that's mostly because they don't taste too good even when cold, but that's immaterial. Having Coke in the morning certainly feels weird, but it's not unhealthy. In any case, you'll probably be able to get up without any trouble even without caffeine. I still urge you to sleep.

I'd just stay awake if I were you. But then I'm good at staying awake, and for all I know, you aren't. If you have a long drive without doing anything, then I'd recommend stay up, I think. Unless, of course, you're driving. If you're the one driving, then you should definitely get some sleep.

Gah! Contradicting points of view!!

Who's red ad horny and who's white and fluffy?

I am good at staying awake until about 9, then I fall asleep cos im not doing anything... but in this case ill be doing something... hopefull it'll be okay... I'll just have to count down the hours or something...

5.5hrs to go...

I dont know what I did today, but its really tired me out... and my ears are on fire... I suppose I could take an extended nap of absence... Then its on the road!

I'll stay up and listen to music for a while... its not like im doing anything productive randomly switching between forums... night all :smallcool: See ya when I get back

yea, if you can sleep in a moving car you're set. i slept all the way from northern Ohio to the southern tip of Flordia. i was up three days before making sure i was tired enough for 12 hours of my dad speeding across the states, but i slept it.

Get some sleep. You may not notice it, but you'll have a lack of energy tomorrow if you don't tonight.

If you have trouble waking up, then get an alarm that rings incessantly loud and put it away from your bed so you have to get up to turn it off.

First off, I thought you were leaving. No more picking titles like that.

Well, I don't sleep more than three-four hours a day on average, so I would say to stay up. But if you are used to sleeping a normal amount of time each day, I'd say sleep. Though it appears you have already made you decision, so this was kind of pointless.

Woo! I'm back! Sorry you thought I was leaving, lol...

I did sleep in the end... and sleep I did... 2 hours longer then I was supposed to, and continued to lay in bed half-awake for another hour...

Anyway, the tent broke sometime today, so we packed up and came home 2 days early :smallfrown:

First time back in camping for two years and it breaks!!

Edit: But at least I got to see Patrick Stewart
