I Die Mechanic: Roll 1d20 and add any applicable modifiers

A Resistance Types: There are two types of resistance, active and passive

1. Active Resistance: Active resistance is when there are two parties involved, an actor and a reactor. The actor is the party who has the initiative, or who otherwise is attempting an action. The reactor is the party who does not have the initiative, or who is in a position to react to what the actor is doing. Both parties roll a d20 and add any modifiers that apply to the situation. If the actor's modified die roll is greater than the reactor's modified die roll, the actor succeeds. If the reactor's modified die roll is equal to or greater than the actor's modified die, the reactor succeeds

2. Passive Resistance: In the case of passive resistance the actor rolls against an objects Difficulty. If the modified roll is equal to or greater than the Difficulty, then the actor succeeds.

B. Special Rules: Certain situations, such as combat and magic, will have specal rules covering them. See those sections for explanations.

II. Characteristics

There are six of these; Strength (STR), Dexterity (DEX), Constitution (CON), Intelligence (INT), Wisdom (WIS), and Charisma (CHA). There are six ways to determine them.

First, decide if the rolls will be applied to each in order, or to each as the player wishes. Second, decide on the die rolling method to be used. These methods are...

4d6, drop the highest

3d6

4d6, drop the lowest.

Obviously 4d6 drop the highest, strict placement gives the least desirable results, unless you're into playing underdogs. 4d6 drop the lowest free placement gives the most desirable results. It all depends on what sort of character you'd like to play, and what sort of game the GM is presenting.

III. Character Races

The following races are available for play on Dragon Earth:

Human
Elf
Dwarf
Orc
Gnome
Halfling

The following races are not available for play on Dragon Earth:

Half-Elf
Half-Orc

In so far as elves and orcs are different species from humans, crossbreeding is not possible. Especially for orcs, who are descended from Homo neanderthaliensis. Unlike elves, who are descended from Homo sapiens. It should also be noted that unlike the other five races, halflings are not members of the genus Homo but the genus Pan. Specifically descended from Pan paniscus, the bonobo.
