The bandit chief had taken enough. First the damn thing wouldn't stop talking about nonviolence. Then, it healed someone he was trying to kill with it. But this, this was too much. His prey had actually disappeared when he hit it the last time.
"Screw this," he said and hurled the red veined quarterstaff into the woods, "I need a weapon that will actually kill something."
As he walked away, he thought he heard back over his shoulder a crackling old voice answer.
"No, you don't."
Proctor, the Gentleflame
Made of Ironwood and intricately veined with red agate the Gentleflame is shaped as any normal quarter staff but much harder.
Base Type: Quarter staff
Damage: 2d6+1d6(fire)/2d6+1d6(fire)
Enhancements: +1, Flaming, Merciful, Ghost touch
Int: 17
Wis: 17
Cha: 10
Ego: 15
Alignment: Lawful Good
Senses: 60 ft. Dark vision, Hearing, Speech
Languages: Common, Draconic and Elven
Lesser Powers: Cure Moderate Wounds 3/day.

Dedicated Powers: Proctor can use Greater Teleportation once per day on a person it’s wielder has just reduced to 0 hit points or fewer with lethal damage. Proctor will always teleport them to the Temple of Ibid until he is informed that the place is no more
Purpose: Serve as an example against the use of lethal violence.
History: Bards tell many tales of the great gold dragon Arjuna also known in song as Defender of the Five Kingdoms. Arjuna throughout his long life fought near tirelessly defending those of good heart from waves of evil that descended upon the land in those times.
Few remember that the dragon was also a smith, his forge, deep in the southern mountains of Trainir was the point of creation for many of the good aligned magical armors and weapons found sparsely scattered throughout the realm to this day.
Even more rare are those who know of Arjuna’s despair. As the generations wore on, and the waves continued Arjuna deciphered a pattern. Many of the new waves were the descendants of old ones. Often striking out for long delayed vengeance or worse rising from the grave itself to do so. At the end of his long life he concluded that the only solution to be found was to cease the cycle of violence and bloodshed. Ironically, he created a weapon to this end.
Proctor, a Quarter staff, so as to be wielded by any, but possessing a mind who will not kill, even at the behest of its wielder. Proctor will go so far to avoid lethal damage that it will heal or teleport a creature away from itself. It usually teleports foes to the temple of Ibid, where the enemy can do no further harm and where the foe, in the tutelage of the monks, might be healed and learn in time to shed it’s former violent ways.
Of course, the Monastery and Temple of Ibid are now deserted and have been for several hundred years, but Proctor doesn’t know that. Many an unconscious foe upon who a killing blow was about to land has awoken, amidst the ruins and shades of others Proctor has sent.
Personality: Proctor views itself primarily as a teacher, not a weapon. It tries to befriend its wielder in an attempt to convince them of the error striking killing blows. However, no matter how close it becomes to its current possessor it will never be convinced to strike a killing blow of its own accord, although to its great regret, it has been overpowered a few times and used to do so. The one exception are the undead, beyond redemption, Proctor will not hesitate to strike them down, emanating a deep sadness at an opportunity long lost as it does so.
Proctor will be helpful and provide the PC's with information if they ask. However, as a teacher, it always wants to start 'right at the begnning' turning what could be a 10 second answer into a 15 min. lecture.

So, I'm not really sure what the formating for an intelegent magical item should be. If anyone knows a standard format please tell me.
