Mithral weapons and interaction with GWM would you allow it to work?

This is purely a speculation question as I know that by raw it doesn't work.

Would you allow a Mithral greatsword to be used for the GWM -5 +10 ability.

Would your decision change if it was being used by a small race?

What are the rules for Mithral Weapons? If you are homebrewing, and you remove the Heavy Tag, then things which trigger off the Heavy Tag (ie GWM or Small races) do not take effect.

Mithral armour ignores disadv to stealth and str requirements but not aware of any official rules for mithral weapons.
