Hello all,
I understand that my racial choice isn't optimized but I was hoping for some assistance in finding a way to make my unarmed attacks better as the Lashing Tail is really nice, and I thought optimizing that would be fun in game. So far my intent is to have an off tank/buffer with a catch 22 defense (Damned if you do, damned if you don't). I am relatively new to 5e, as I am mainly an Exalted & D&D 3.5 player so any help is appreciated.
Relevant Racial Traits:
+2 dexterity, +1 strength
Reaction to being attacked: Unarmed attack Slashing that does 1d4+strength
Bite: 1d4+strength piercing.
I will be 5th level, and so far the following options have come to mind.
Options I see
Monk 1, Sorcerer Draconic Origin: 4
-This gives my unarmed attacks weapon finesse for unarmed, but this provides no other real benefits to the tankiness.
Paladin 2, Sorcerer Draconic Origin: 3
-This sets up for the run to the Oath of Conquest Paladin build, and makes me deadly in hand to hand, but my accuracy will be rather meh with the unarmed attacks.
Bard 2, Sorcerer Draconic Origin: 3
-This provides some very powerful buffing for spell-casting, and ridiculous skills.
