In the misty past of Ancient Osirion lived a pharaoh with a wizardly bent. This sorcerer-king convoked the most powerful mages in the empire and summoned angels to help them craft hieroglyphic tattoos of sinister power. Yet all their work was for naught! For when the pharaoh emerged from the temple, covered in dried ink, he demanded the public worship him as a god; and he was struck down by holy fire for his hubris.

For ages his works were lost to the Material Plane, but the profane secrets of his blasphemous premise are known to powerful outsiders who will release them if commanded. Out of malice! for they do not warn that the use of such tattoos is considered an offense against the proper order of things by the gods.

Eye Of Horus

A pauldron of ornate glyphs with an eye of Horus as the center, this tattoo grants the bearer temporary hit points equal to his character level multiplied by his Charisma modifier. This is a temporary effect that may be dispelled.

BELT

Girdle of Impression

A design of three parallel double-helixes about the waist, this tattoo lets the bearer spend a full day wearing a physical magic belt and storing its effect in the tattoo. The effect remains in the tattoo until the bearer dismisses it as a full-round action. This does not allow the bearer to stack effects with a physical belt, but it does permit him to remove that physical belt and wear another one while continuing the effect of the first belt.

Sublime Breastplate Icon

This hexagonal icon tattoo is inscribed in a six-hour ritual. The bearer chooses one of the four classic energy types each day upon rising from a eight-hour rest. The bearer is warded in an elemental aura of that energy, which is either yellow-green in color for acid, blue-white for electricity, red for fire, or white for cold. The aura is visible to the naked eye and gives off the light of a candle. The bearer also gains resistance 5 to that energy type, and gains a corresponding elemental touch. Once per minute, as a standard action, the bearer may issue a bolt of energy upon a target within 120 feet. The target is struck by 1D6 damage/level of that chosen energy type, and suffers a diminished resistance of 5 to that energy. The aura may be dismissed at any time by the bearer, but the other effects terminate as well, and may not be reactivated until after an eight-hour rest.

Made of braided cords about the feet and ankles, this tattoo permits the bearer to slip into the Ethereal Plane as an immediate action for one turn; grants teleportation to any imagined point on the same plane within 100 miles; and grants a fly speed of 60 (poor maneuverability).

This skullcap tattoo of repeating triangles of varying size grants the bearer continuous use of telepathy, tongues and comprehend languages. Additionally the bearer may, as a standard action, make a stare attack at any creature in his line of sight within 40 feet. The target must succeed at a DC 25 Will save or be paralyzed for one round, and the bearer may read the surface thoughts of the target as if he had concentrated for three rounds with a detect thoughts spell. Finally, any person attempting to read the thoughts of the bearer, fails to do so, and must make a DC 25 Will save or take 1d4 points of psychic damage and be staggered for two rounds.

This tattoo resembles a shirt of scale mail, each scale decorated with a symbol of power. Once per day, as a full-round action, the bearer may attempt to summon a monster to his side. This summoning may be counterspelled or blocked as normal. If successful, the summoned creature flops dead at the bearer's feet, and the bearer gains temporary hit points equal to those of the monster at full health. These health points last for twenty-four hours at most, or until consumed by damage as normal.

A circle of discs and crescents orbits within this dodecahedron tattoo. Once per lunar month, the bearer may summon a monster with fewer hit points than the bearer, as a full-round action. This summoning may be blocked or counterspelled as normal. If successful, the monster remains, obedient to the bearer, for a full lunar month. At the rise of the moon corresponding to the moon of the summoning, the monster is dismissed without attacking the bearer. If at any time during the month, the bearer has fewer hit points than the monster, the monster is immediately dismissed without attacking the bearer. Temporary hit points count towards this spell effect.

This band of unearthly geometries circles the off-hand thumb. The bearer of this tattoo summons an eldritch entity who destroys minds. As a full-round action, once per day, the bearer may concentrate upon communion with this eldritch entity. As an immediate effect, all sentient beings within 20 feet of the bearer take 3d6 Int, Wis, and Cha damage. The GM rolls the 3d6 once for all targets. No creature can be brought below a score of 1 by this effect. This is a temporary effect, and targets recover 1 point of ability score damage per day unless subjected to a restoration spell.

I recall that an item providing a feat costs about 10,000, plus or minus for usability. But in this case I think the effect blends into the total effect for no extra cost beyond what you calculated.



I should make clear that these are the properties of a royal budget of a fanatic, so it should not be possible for one player to afford all the bits and pieces.

I understand that logic. I once made a full armor set that cost a bit over a million, but would let a 1st level commoner go toe to toe with a 10th level party. The actual user of the armor was a warlord in charge of a mobile city.

Noontime Devil

Sunbursts intertwine in this band of fiery inks. The bearer of this tattoo may concentrate as a full-round action to cause his entire body to radiate fierce noonday sunlight. The light extends at full effectiveness for 60 feet, and all other creatures within that radius suffer as from the effect of mage's disjunction. All creatures within the radius also take 2d6 fire damage per round they spend within 60 feet of the bearer. Oozes and undead take double damage. Creatures with sight within 60 feet of the radius must make a Fortitude save against being blinded. Cover reduces the damage and effect of this light proportionately.

The light persists at half-strength for another 60 feet, in which radius creatures take half damage and the mage's disjunction effect has a 50% chance per round to take effect. Creatures in this radius must make a Fortitude save against being dazzled. Cover reduces this effect proportionately.

The light persists for ten minutes per level of the bearer, unless dispelled, or dismissed by the bearer. The spell effect has no effect on the bearer unless it is reflected back at him by arcane or mundane means.

All creatures approaching within 30 feet of the bearer must make a Will save or be affected as though by an overwhelming presence spell. This is a sonic effect that can be overcome with a silence spell.
