CLOAK AND DAGGER VI – Dungeons and Narrators

What happened till now:

In the last round of Cloak and Dagger IV, the devious Khaldan killed coldheartedly the beloved and wise Narrator. So a couple of scientists gathered around to sacrifice themselves to ressurect him.
Therarde was the scientist who finally managed to bring the narrator back, but what was the price? The good and wise man changed into a devious and cunning figure, plotting to conquer the world. For this porpose he build up a dungeon in the near mountains, filled with pit traps and evil creatures.


A group of adventureres formed to wipe out the evil narrator, but while walking to the dungeouns they discovered that their personalities didn’t match to each other. In fact, some of them hated some others from the bottom of their heart, they would have done everything to kill them if there weren’t the others. On the other hand some were inspired by the wisdom and courage of some others, they would have done everything to help them.

And this group entered the dungeoun, knowing that every step could be their last, especially for the ones who were leading and the ones who were at the back.
Each time someone died they voted on how they should arrange each other.


THE RULES

This game is based on the orignal Ultimate Cloak & Dagger from Tormsskull. Thank you Tormsskull for giving me the permission to resurrect it.

The rules will be slight different, especially the vote rules as will be explained beyond.

1.) The goal

The goal is to kill off all people on your kill-list and save all people on your heal-list
The game ends if one or more people managed to clear their kill-list.
If there is more then one who cleared their list, winner is the one who managed to keep the most people on his heal-list alive.
If these lists are equal, too, we have a draw and two or more winners.

2.) The lists

The cook-list and the spirit-list will be send out via PM by me to all participating players.

3.) How to kill

Everyone get three votes:

- a major vote (worth 3 points)
- a average vote (worth 2 points)
- a minor vote (worth 1 point)

YOU MAY NOT VOTE FOR YOURSELF!
In your first vote you have to announce all three votes, you must vote for at least two different players. (If this sentence is unclear please PM me or post a question in this thread!)

You send a PM to me with your votes (for example: 3 points for player x, 2 points for player y, 1 point for player z)
You may change every vote after every update by PMing me your new vote.
At the end of the round I will count up all votes and will show in the thread who voted for whom.
(for example: Player w: 3 points for player x, 2 points for player y, 1 point for player z)

The people who got the most points are killed!
The people who got the least points are killed!
The people who didn't send me a vote without an excuse are killed!

If you are going on holidays or do something else where you know you can't get into the internet feel free to PM me an advice for whom you will vote in the meantime, when and if you want to change your vote later and so on.
I will try to obey your advices, if there are too many it could be that there will be mistakes so this is just for emergency cases!

4) other issues

One round should last 3 days, I will update the thread every 24hours with the standings (who would get killed till now) and a list who have'nt voted.
I will not remind the ones who haven't voted.

So, sign up is open, if you have questions or ideas feel free to post in this thread. post in this thread if you have something to say, banter around about the game or bribe other players, I don't want to end every game on page two!

Take Castaras, she has pies, they will protect her.

But she's asleep, maybe we should take Lizard Lord, if there is any Wyrm inside he can talk with it.

No, the entrance is in the north so North should go.

I vote for Hannes. He's so brave, he can handle every trap we encounter.

But Artemis97 is also brave, why not send her first.

Mustiado runs from the back of the crowd to the entrance, tosses Banjo into the cave and jumps afer him.
The other adventureres are following Mustiado quickly and soon only two are left behind.

NO, ME FIRST, states the black dragon , picks up both and swallow them in one piece.

Down the cave the adventurers gather together.

Hey Cassie mentioned a pit trap, where was it?

Oh, it was’nt very deep, I felt only a few points and a very soft carpet.

Ermm, look, it wasn’t a carpet...

Silently they are examining the remains of Castaras, then they gather together.

Ok, he's crazy, come on, let's see where he leads us.

Demonking, CurlyKitGirl and Artemis97 are following Helgraf to the door. The rest of the adventurers are not quite sure what to do.
I'm da Rouge is checking the open door if there are any traps while Atreyu stands beside her and spits on the wall.
Freshmeat tries to figure out how the Rogue can find traps (because he secretly wishes to become a rogue, too) while dragonprime, Ezlo, Hannes and Strategos just waiting what happens.

Hey Banjo, come on! We need a bard in the front row!

No way, Mustiado, a bard has to stay back and just support the main actors.

But you can't support them when they can't hear you!

Demonking, CurlykitGirl and Artemis rushed through the door trying to find Helgraf. But Helfraf isn’t where they expected him. In fact they can’t see anything because suddenly the entire room is covered by a thick mist.
HELGRAF! They are shouting but no reply.
Suddenly, out of nowhere, a giant tentacle attends and Emperor Demonking vanishes in the mist, screaming very loud for help.

What was that? Helgraf’s asking

Where were you? We were searching for you! And now Demonking is dead!

Sorry Artemis, I tripped over a root and fell in the mud. Couldn’t hear you at all.

Ok, but what shall we do now?

I think the best will be to make it to the other side of this room! Very quick, to be exactly.

Good. Mustiado, Atreyu, Strategos. Rogue, Freshmeat, Lizard Lord, katonta, Hannes, Ezlo, dragonprime, Haruki-kun and Banjo, come on and follow me, this could be dangerous!

Artemis is leading the group to the door at the other side and pushes the handle.
That was a big mistake! Never open a door before a educated rogue could search for some traps, a big rock falls down and crushes Artemis.

Helgraf takes over and opens the door.
Ok, come on, we have to get out of this room before it’s too late!

Hey, I could sing us a nice retreating song. Wait… Flee, flee, flee to the secret exi………

A giant tentacle leaps out of the mist and graps Banjo.

Nooooo, not Banjo! Haruki-kun screams, holding Banjos hand and tries to pull him back. But suddenly a second tentacle graps Harukis feet and pulls him into the mist.

The party hears some screaming voices of Haruki and Banjo, then silence and then some munching noises.

Ok, let’s see what’s happening next!

And Artemis should have let me through! I would have found this trap easily.

At the top of the group CurlyKitGirl grabs her sword and goes furhter into the darkness.

Come on you lot of cowards! I want to find the narrator as soon as possible! I am prepared, I already fought a cat medusa!

She never told us who casted the “stone to flesh” spell on her afterwards.

Could be a Grey Render (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/monsters/grayRender.htm). Ezlo replied.
They are very dangerous!

But Grey Renders live in warm marshes, not in dungeons under the earth.
That was Hannes, waving his Monster Manual.

Don’t forget we are dealing with an evil narrator! We could encounter everthing down here.
Helgraf was the experienced in the group so he knew how dangerous such a journey could be.

I’m da Rogue and Lizard Lord are looking if they can find something to fight with.

They forgot to bring their weapons again. Strategos complains

Yes, last time they wanted to borrow my sword. Was completely bloody when Lizard Lord gave it back to me.
Atreyu was very proud of his glancing sword

And I borrowed my Bow I’m da Rogue! She broke at last 10 arrows!

Katonta takes a microphone and whispers into it:

Hello and welcome to the dungeons of the evil narrator, I’m katonta, your host in this pity place. The doomed party just encountered a Grey Render, a magical beast you wouldn't expect in a Dungeon like this, it’s very big and very upset (maybe because someone summoned it from the temperate marshes it usually lives into this dark dungeon. However, the brave CurlyKitGirl takes her sword and runs to the monster, hitting it hard in the back, followed by Hannes who manages to cut the toenails of the Render and Ezlo is sending an arrow in the direction of the noise but the arrow misses it’s target. That was bad luck for Ezlo here, he experienced so hard for shooting and now he missed by inches. But now it’s the turn of the Grey Render, and really it turns, looks in Curlys face and… what is it doing here… it opens it’s mouth… awww poor Curly, she’s grabbed in the Grey Renders mouth, can’t move. Hopefully some of her party members will help her, let’s see, who got initiative now… yes katonta and dragonprime… where is dragonprime, last time I saw him peeing into that heap of crap in that corner over there… oh no, that was an Otyugh (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/monsters/otyugh.htm), poor dragonprime. And the other Hero, katonta? Oh, wait a moment that’s me… too late to act, sorry Curly.
Now it’s the turn of Atreyu the masked Llama, Helgraf, I'm da Rogue!, Lizard Lord, Mustiado and Strategos. Yes, all of them. With a scream on their lips they run to the monster, waving their weapons and… Helgraf stumbels, falls… oh no, the others where tripped by Helgraf’s body, they stumble too… Atreyu’s Llama dagger stabbitys Helgrafs body… what a mess.
Last one to go is Freshmeat. He lites his cigarette, draws his knife (he’s acting very cool, I’m astonished how someone could act so cool while approaching such a danger) walkes over to the Grey Render and pecks it with his weapon… YES a critical hit! And a sneak attack… the Grey Render stumbels, it falls… and smashes Freshmeat… poor guy, just safed the day and now has to go.
So this is the end of my todays story, the party finally managed to kill the incredible beast with only minor losses (CurlyKitGirl, Freshmeat, Helgraf and dragonprime). Katonta out!

Hannes runs! As fast as his feet can carry him he tries to flee from the darkness, fearing there could be a monster in it. Unfortunately he can’t see the door in the darkness and runs with full speed in it. His neck brakes and he sinks dead on the floor.
The door opens, the narrator enters and turns the light on.

Someone knocked? Oh, an adventuring party! You are here to kill me? Hahahahahaha! You never get me, I’m to strong for you.

He takes a gun and shoots Strategos in the head.

Look what I’m doing with you! You have no chance against me!

Katonta picks up his microphine, presses the Rec button and begins to speak

Ladies and Gentleman, Katonta here from the dungeons of the great Narrator. Something unexpectedly happened, something so awful I can not describe fully with my poor words. The Narrator attended and shot our beloved Strategos! Why is he so cruel. Oh my, oh my, what can we do against his evilness.

The Narrator looks puzzled.

Hey, what are you doing here? Put that microphone down! I’m the Narrator! I’m the one who speaks!

The last words he screamed with a high, annoying tone.

Katonta: Oh, the narrator seems to have a weak point. I hope we all can use this to bring him down and lead him to the punishment he deserves. I already see Atreyu sneaking behind his back trying to stab him with his deadly Llama dagger…

Hah! You made a mistake! You warned me. Silly talkative human!

The narrator turns and shoot Atreyu into the head.

In this moment I’m da Rogue, Mustiado and Ezlo, who were sneaking in the shadows to get closer to the fiend, are jumping up and stabbing the Narrator in the back! He stumbles, falls and dies at the end.

Katonta cheers up!

Yay! The narrator is dead! What a glorious moment for us all, what a glorious moment for mankind. I have to say that this was the work of us all as group, as team, like the Hobbits in The Lord of the Ring or like Harry, Ron and Hermione we stood together, fought together and finally won together…

I’m da Rogue looks up from the dead body to Ezlo and Mustiado

I had hoped he would have died during the fight so we must not hear him any more.

Yes, he’s a little bit annoying, but not so annoying as you! And let my wallet where it is, thank you! Ezlo replies

Lizard Lord is just standing in a corner and looks at katonta and Mustiado. He hates them. He really, really hates them. But he has no friends here anymore. He’s feeling alone and sad.
