As I'm reading the War of the Spark novel based on block of the same name, the Infinity-Wars-esque story cap in the Magic: the Gathering universe, I'm restarting my series of subclasses based on Planeswalkers.

Shield Magic

You are a creature of light, for your innate magic surges as the expanse of the Shadowfell grows. From protecting the villages of Gobakhan from diamond storms, or corralling the roving undead away from the city of Naktamun of Amonkhet, you trace your innate magic to a distant but powerful familial connection to a lesser divine being, such as an empyrean, solar, ki-rin, or other entity that channels the power of light to protect the innocent and burn away the encroaching darkness

Bonus Proficiencies
At 1st level, you gain proficiency with shields, simple weapons, and martial weapons

Lightshield (https://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=460960)
Starting at 1st level, you gain a base AC of 13 + your Charisma modifier if you aren’t wearing armor. You also learn the Light cantrip and Shield spell, which doesn't count against your number of sorcerer cantrips or spells known.

When you reach 3rd level in this class, you can also cast Shield by spending 1 sorcery point. If you cast it with sorcery points, you can also cast it as a reaction when a creature you can see attacks a target other than you that is within 5 feet of you, and the nearby creature gains the benefit of the spell, rather than you.

Glittering Aegis (https://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=460959)
Starting at 6th level, your command of lightshields grows stronger. As a bonus action, you can grant an aegis to one allied creature you can see within 60 feet of you. The aegis is a faint, white shield of light magic that protects the target. Any bludgeoning, piercing, or slashing damage from non-magical weapons the target takes is reduced by 1+your Charisma Modifier. This effect lasts for 1 minute, until you use it again, or until you are incapacitated.

In addition, during a short or long rest, you can drape a lightshield around your party to guard your respite. At the start of the rest, you touch a point in space, and a glistening, 30-foot-radius geodesic dome of magic appears, centered on that point. Total cover blocks the sphere. While within the sphere, you and your allies can't be surprised, and gain a +5 bonus to initiative and Wisdom (Perception) checks. Any other creature that attempts to enter through the shield treats it as difficult terrain. The dome vanishes at the end of the rest or when you leave the area.

Weaponized Daylight (https://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=407543)
At 14th level, you gain the ability to transform your command of light into a weapon. As an action, you can expend a spell slot and begin concentrating (as on a spell) to launch a beam of light in a 5-foot-wide line coming from you, with a distance of 10 feet for each level of the spell slot extended. Each creature in that line makes a Constitution save. On a failure, a creature takes 1d8 radiant damage per level of the spell slot expended and is blinded until your next turn. On a pass, it takes half damage and isn't blinded. Your hand also sheds 30 feet of bright sunlight and an additional 30 feet of dim sunlight during the 1 minute duration. You can redirect the beam as an action during that duration.

Shieldmaster's Aegis
Beginning at 18th level, when you use your Glittering Aegis to protect an ally, you can choose up to three creatures to gain its benefits. However, if you choose only a single creature, the damage reduction includes magic weapons and necrotic damage.

Teyo is a shieldmage who acts very much like a Stone Sorcerer - So I used that UA class as a base.
Lightshield is just Shield, but able to be given to an ally.
Glittering Aegis is exactly the same as Stone Aegis (which also is 2+ a quarter of your Sorc level), scaling up to 7 Damage Reduction
The other half of the Glittering Aegis is a less-subtle version of a Dream Druid's Hearth of Moonlight and Shadow. You can't hide in it, but if you are stumbled upon, you'll have an edge.
Weaponized Daylight is essentially a scaling Sunbeam spell, with both damage and distance scaling with the spell level used, instead of a 6d8 60ft AoE for a 6th level spell.
Shieldmaster's Aegis is just the Stone Sorcerer's Earth Master's Aegis, but tacks on Necrotic damage reduction.

Let me know what you think!

Glittering Aegis is too good. 4-7 damage off of most attacks, for basically free, on the party tank... Too good.

Lightshield should probably be based off Charisma too. Actually makes it better, but honestly, your AC ain't gonna be incredible no matter what.

That's fair. Changed it to be a HAM clone, preventing 2-6 nonmagical BPS damage at level 6

I then made the option to have it either be multi-target OR a magical BPS damage at level 18

Seems fairly balanced.
I really like weaponized daylight. The image of a huge beam of light is awesome and I like the scaling damage and range aspect of it.

Thanks!

Also thanks for bumping the post - I had forgotten that I failed to put a picture of the inspiration for the character up.
