In a profane and darkly disturbing ritual, a pair of mortals will conceive a child while in the presence of a powerful Demon Lord. The demon sacrifices a minor demon, binding its soul to that of the newly conceived child. Though human in appearance, such children are cursed (or blessed) with only one possible future : becoming a Blackblood Slayer.

Demonic Aura(Su) - Aura of evil as cleric, whenever an ability or spell is used on the Blackblood Slayer to detect alignment, the blackblood slayer knows who and where the caster is.

Fear Strike (Ex) - whenever you deal sudden strike damage with a melee weapon, the target and all opponents within 30 feet who can see the target are frightened for a number of rounds equal to your level/2 unless they save. (DC 10+ 1/2 clvl + charisma bonus)

Evil essence 1 (Su) - The character can activate regeneration for a number of rounds equal to character level 1/day. The regeneration is at a rate equal to the Blackblood Slayers Cha bonus. Holy or Lawful damage does normal damage to a Blackblood Slayer.

Terrible Presence (Ex) - Whenever you attack or charge, all opponents within a radius of 30 feet become shaken for a number of rounds equal to 1d6 + Charisma bonus. The effect is negated by a Will save (DC 10 + 1/2 character level + Charisma bonus).

Evil essence 2 (Su) - The character gains +4 to saves against negative energy and spells with the (Evil) descriptor.

Malefic Demand (Su) - Summon a Tanar-ri of CR equal to 1/2 Blackblood Slayer level for 1 hour per Blackblood Slayer level. This demon obeys every command of the Blackblood Slayer, but cannot use its summon ability.

Frightful Attack (Su) - Once per day, the Blackblood Slayer can designate a melee sudden strike attack as a frightful attack. If the attack deals damage to the target, the victim must take a Will save (DC 10 + 1/2 character level + Charisma bonus) or immediately die of fear. All creatures within 30 ft. who see the frightful attack become panicked (if their HD are less than the Blackblood Slayer's class level +Charisma modifier) or shaken (if their HD equal or exceed the Blackblood Slayer's class level +Charisma modifier) for one round per 2 levels of the Blackblood Slayer. A successful Will save (DC 10 + 1/2 character level + Charisma bonus) negates this effect. Creatures immune to fear are immune to this frightful attack.

Dread Terror (Ex) - Any creature that becomes shakened, frightened or panicked as a result of the Blackblood Slayer's abilities (class or otherwise) must make a second Will save (DC 10 + 1/2 character level + Charisma bonus) or become flat-footed for the purpose of Sudden Strike.

Cleaving Fright (Su) - 1/day if the Blackblood Slayer slays a foe with his frightful attack (either from damage dealt or because of a failed save against its fear effect), he gets an immediate extra melee attack against another target within reach. If the new target is flat-footed, this extra attack is also a frightful attack, though it doesn't count against the ghost-faced killer's daily limit of frightful attacks. This ability otherwise functions as the Cleave feat.

questions? comments?

intended this as a *real* opposite to paladin... not just a mindless reversal of the paladins powers, but a conceptual opposition.... paladins protect their friends, ride a special mount into combat, heal people, are immune to fear.

blackblood slayers Kill. then they summon a demon, and kill some more.

they kill using fear, and have less protections than a paladin. in a toe-to-toe fight, the sneak attack and regeneration would be balanced by the smite and lay on hands, probably the fight would end in the paladin's favour anyways.

still havent fluffed it up, but what do you think of the crunch? :)

I really like this class it is awesome for a dark campaign and is just a pretty good idea. But I only have one question can the blackblood slayer remove the curse i.e repent and become a class that's predomenatly good like a paladin or is he cursed for life?
