This forum (and most of the other ones on the network, particularly Halo 3 (http://www.bungie.net/Forums/topics.aspx?forumID=105242)) is essentially a hive for idiots and their natural preditor, flamers. The mods encourage and take part in it; the head administrator Achronos is one of the worst flamers on the boards. I've looked and I think that every single one of those is reprosented somewhere.

I joined one forum at one point. It was basically two Big Dogs who got in spats over the littlest things, accompanied by about 25 Me Toos, and about 3 reccurent spammers who were constantly killed. Occasionally, out of the mist, would arise Metroid, the mod who was demodded for being a jackass, come to dispense words of wisdom and yell at people dumber than him. It was a great place. I remember after rejoining it, I was an utter jerk on every other forum I went too, but unfortunately, I was also smarter. It's like a very, very bad version of Flowers for Algernon.

Yup! I used to go on bungie.net a lot, until I got bored of Halo. Even after that, I went on occasionally to insult people as stress relief. The plot discussions are a lot of fun; I'm sure there are people there who still maintain that humans are The Forerunners.

Gamespot, while not nearly as vitriolic as bungie.net, is also fun for that. Though I oppose trolling, I fondly recall spending a few days on the discussion boards for the game "50 Cent: Bulletproof." Getting posters angry enough that they actually stopped typing in ebonics in their haste to respond was immensely satisfying.

Back on topic, I'd say I'm a combination of Diplomat (http://www.flamewarriors.com/warriorshtm/diplomat.htm) and Profundus Maximus (http://www.flamewarriors.com/warriorshtm/profundusmaximus.htm). Nothing like quoting the main arguments from both sides, rebutting/ accepting all of them via detailed analysisand claiming that this proves that everyone is right, and then watching the "TLDR" posts pile up under the resulting wall of text.

I remember this site from a while back on a different forum (everyone there seemed to think they were a Big Cat. Go figure :smallsigh: ). It looks like a few were added since then, I think. This forum tends to either suppress or weed out the major offenders from that site though.

If I were one of those, I'd probably be Filibuster or Philosopher. In any event, I've noticed that I can be extremely long winded when another poster can describe the same concept just as well in a single line. There, see. I'm doing it again.
