This following poem is composed entirely of actual quotes from George W. Bush.

Make the Pie Higher

I think we all agree, the past is over.
This is still a dangerous world.
It's a world of madmen
And uncertainty
And potential mental losses.

Rarely is the question asked
Is our children learning?
Will the highways of the internet
Become more few?
How many hands have I shaked?

They misunderestimate me.
I am a pitbull on the pantleg of opportunity.
I know that the human being and the fish
Can coexist.

Families is where our nation finds hope
Where our wings take dream.
Put food on your family!
Knock down the tollbooth!
Vulcanize society!
Make the pie higher!
Make the pie higher!

Hehee. Awesome. Those are all genuine lines, right?
"I know that the human being and the fish can coexist" and "Vulcanize society" are ones I'd like to know the context off...

Found poetry, ftw.

While we're on the subject of such work... I quote from teh netz, and shall refrain from mentioning which political figure it was taken from:

The Unknown
As we know,
There are known knowns.
There are things we know we know.
We also know
There are known unknowns.
That is to say
We know there are some things
We do not know.
But there are also unknown unknowns,
The ones we don't know
We don't know.

I rather like it, personally. :smallconfused:

Best Dubya line:

"If we don't succeed then we run the risk of failure."

It's so true it acheives a measure of almost Zen-Like profundity.

And great job OP. You win one internet.

Quoted for Truth.

It's remarkable how well those Bushisms take to artful arrangements. Even taken out of context, it comes close to looking like a viable poem.

Which is incredible. And why I love little projects like these. To the OP: well done.

This goes back as far as 2002 (http://www.snopes.com/politics/bush/piehigher.asp). It's still funny after five years, though.

Bloody good job on the poem, I'd say, and really funny qoutes as well. As for the one Ego Slayer uploaded, I believe one of the characters in "The Boondocks" qoutes that a lot, though that's doubtfully the original source.

Haha! Funny!

I for one would like to know what he was talking about when he said "Make the pie higher!"

"You bet I cut taxes at the top. That encourages entrepreneurship. What we Republicans should stand for is growth in the economy. We ought to make the pie higher." (http://www.snopes.com/politics/bush/piehigher.asp)
