Hey there, i've been looking around on the web for days now and I can't seem to find a non-trial AVI to MP4 video converter. I got bored with looking, so I figured i'd ask somewhere other people could do that part for me, or already HAVE done it!

So if you know of or have a free AVI to MP4 converter, that I can get easily from some sort of website, please tell me. I don't have an extra $30-$40 they cost, so i'm kinda stuck!

MP4 (Or MPEG-4 Part 14 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MPEG-4_Part_14)) is a container format which can contain a large number of different encodings of video and audio.

So do you have any idea which codec you want to use inside ? (for example H.264 for video, and AAC or MP3 for audio).

Have you tried Virtual Dub (http://www.virtualdub.org/) (if you have a H264 encoder)? Or using VLC (http://www.videolan.org/) with x264 (http://www.videolan.org/developers/x264.html) (a H264 encoder) ?

You want Super. Super or Video9. Super converts everything, whereas Video9 primarily converts to MPeg4, since it's designed to work with the PSP, essentially.

Super:

Download link is near impossible to find, so here it is:

Video9:

Thanks very much, i'll look into both of these right now. By the way, I have a DivX codec and am looking to put the videos on my PsP. xD
