Tinkerer [class]

Since I was having trouble thinking of class for one of my gods, I thought i could create a new one. I'm kind of new so i am going to need help.

THe idea is the tinkerer, master of steam powered technology. The kind of stuff Lantan is based around of. Most of the Lantan Gnomes are experts, and that being an NPC class, makes it diffucult to apply to being a god.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I think their would be a D6 hit die and 3/4 BAB. I am thinking something along the lines of artificer, but much more technology based.

Have you looked into the Master (Crafter) class from the Dragonlance setting book War of the Lance? It seems to be exactly what you're looking for. d6 HD, 8+int skills, 3/4 BAB, great crafting ability. It's halfway between an NPC class and a PC class. And its great if you go into Gnomish Tinkerer (a 10 level PrC in the same book).
