Welcome to the hordes of Evil! I will be your resident player killer Dungeon Master for this campaign!

You were brought together for a purpose. THe evil lords have combined their power and are working towards a common goal. The ruling of all the known world!

Each as a servant of a seperate lord, your group was forged together as one. An elite group, sent on missions of utmost importance. Without you, there can be no success. The leaders car not how the job is done, so long as it is done. Killing each other is not acceptable.

Your band of Evilness finally arrives at the destination. The mouth of a particularly boring looking cave. It is difficult to believe this cave could hold one of the most important artifacts to the evil campaigns. You have all been informed that it is an orb of some kind. Appearing to be made of glass, it contains an eternal flame. This is one of many artifacts required by the lords, and is your first assignment.

The mouth of the cave is dark, and cannot be penetrated by ordinary vision. It seems to be a natural formation, but you know otherwise. Stories of terrible creatures that reside here, and the informant who told you of the fanatical cult who guard the orb itself. All these will have to be dealt with to achieve your goal.

Good Luck with that.

((Now where the heck did my post go? Ah yes, double thread. I'll repost to make sure))

Sn'ikt shambles forward to the mouth of the cave and raises his nose, sniffing the air coming out of it. He turns to the group with a wide grin: "A beautiful place to spread my most excellent diseases!" he says with an insane chuckle. "Let's not wait-wait!"

Earlier in life, Bessie probably would have said something offensive about the very idea of a mysterious cave with a cult guarding an Artifact of Doom. She's even tempted to now, looking at the thing. The suggestion of flooding the place and letting the gods sort them all out is just on the tip of her tongue.

But any tradition that involves kicking the crap out of some morally disposable fodder is a tradition she can get behind. "Nothing says 'hello' like fever, aches and a savage beating," she smiles, "let's get to know our new friends."

Jrarrl

A hunched gnoll cautiously approached the entrance, making sure to keep to the side. While he did not vocalize his agreement with the cancer mage, he did flash a few fangs in a gnarrled smile as his eyes glinted with malice.

Hide and Move Silently for Q, his familiar.

A small winged creature that faintly smells of blood crawls from behind Jrarrl and stealthily moves deeper into the dark entrance, making sure to take advantage of any cover available.

Sn'ikt's grin widens, revealing his decaying tooth flesh as he turns to Jacob: "I'm hungry. Let's not waste time-time!"
Without wasting time Sn'ikt disappears inside the cave carefully examining the way before him.

Bessie the Messy

In the back of her mind, Bess wonders how reasonable the rat will ever be, and guesses there's one way to find out.

"Hey, Wildfang," she says to the druid, crouching to scritch the ears of a very large cat, "you mind looking after Erythnul if Danger Mouse and me go scout ahead a bit? I figure we can find one of these cultist guys, conk him over the head and ask him what all is in here."

Regardless of his response, she follows roughly the same path as the gnoll's familiar, staying low in the darkness and searching for the inevitable mousetrap.

Board roller doesn't seem to be working for me at the moment, so here's invisiblecastle.

Snikt and bess head into the mouth of the cave. The entrance seems completely lacking in traps, or any mechanisms at all. Nothing is inside the entrance either. No creatures of any sort. The wind whistels slightly as you move down the caves.

A little further in you come across some markings upon the wall. They are written in a language you can't recognise at a glance.

Barely concealing her disappointment, Bess skips back to the exit and motions for the rest of the group to come in. Maybe someone else can read it...

Jacob picks up the cat and scratchs him behind the ears.

Well aren't you a pretty little thing.

Jacob places the cat on the ground before moving inside the cave with the rest of them.

Before Bess can shoot him down for leaving the cat outside Jacob says

Yeah I know I left your kitty outside but Lilly and some.... outside help are looking after him/her. Don't worry. Now let me see those ruins.

The texts on the wall cannot be rea by any language which any of you speak. However, after a few moments they shift. Malforming, and adjusting into a new script. Sn'ikt recognises it as the text of the Nezumi. it shifts again, into another text. This time Bess can read it as infernal. The text shifts again and again. Gradually covering practically every langhuage but common. It reads thus:

Beware traveller! This cave is not where you want to be! You pass this point at great risk to yourselves and those around you. You have been warned...

"You read my mind!" the fiend grins playfully. "Be careful about that. We know a lot of things Man Was Not Meant To Know, I'd hate to see you spend your whole time here gibbering and seeing green hairy things popping out of the walls. C'mon, it's over here..."

Bess

Bess thinks a moment, then unsheathes her sword, grasping it near the end with her gauntleted hand and quickly cutting into the stone in Common, Of course, if you're scared of a warning like that, what kind of adventurer are you? Her penmanship is, as might be expected of such a medium, atrocious.

Sheathing it again she follows after Jacob, taking care and looking closely.

(Still making Search and stealth checks ; let me know when they become relevant. :smallwink: )

The gnoll snorted at the warning, what a bunch of nonsense. He hadn't yet come to a situation where his magic did not offer up a host of possible answers or expedious retreats. Still, he kept his hands ready to retrieve spell components and followed the werewolf down the cave.

Q hesistated for a moment at the sight of the warning. Such things were highly magical and spoke of some skill from the crafter. Yet, her master did not show any semblance of fear, so she followed the werewolf closely, still masker her prescence by moving along the edges of the cave.

Somehow, inside a cave, thunder rolls, giving a very bad sense of forboding about extremely fatal undetectable crushing traps if certain players continue to fail to post who they are in bold at the top of the post.

A natural 20 to find undetectable traps and the fourth wall... how ironic.

The part continues down the passageway, eventually coming to a fork in the tunnnels. It continues in three directions. Straight on, left and right (how original). Strangely, there are torches lit from here on. Obviously the cult has been about.

Sn'ikt, you can sense 6 large shapes down the passage straight ahead. The light from the torches means that the others can see only some vague shadows at the edge, and can't count how many.

Describe them to me, Shmee. he requests from his cancerous companion telepathically, and waits for his answer before turning to his companions: "Shmee says they look like cats with six legs. Tentacles on their shoulders. We want them."

The blindsight ability should enable Shmee to recognize their shapes, only colors and visual contrats are not visible through it
