Madness!

I'm looking to add a little bit of insanity into my d20 modern world, by adding in some sort of system that let's you characters end up a couple of bricks short of a load. I haven't seen anything that does this yet, so before I go and make a big set of homebrew rules myself, I'd like to see what other people have used/seen used/read.

It there not a vile feat of madness? You have to self inflic your self and you get free anti-mind effect then go mad for so many turns?

Just be careful of using the rules regarding insanity and spellcasting- It is really, really annoying to be a caster and to lose sanity for using your class features, especially when casting good or healing spells. My DM uses these rules, and it's the only part of his game that I truly loathe, because it punishes my Cleric for helping the party.
