That is...so random it's funny!

Why would you even think of something like that??:smalleek:

Poor hedgehog, though...:smallfrown:

I've seen that before. PxP linked it in her LiveJournal a while back. Funny stuff.

He should be punished for what he did to the poor hedgehog, but noone mentioned that in the article.:smallmad:

It does mention that the Hedgehog was dead when collected as evidence, and they are trying to determine if it was alive when thrown, if so then animal cruelty charges will also be filed.

They said that they might bring him up on animal cruelty charges.

Dear lord, what have the world come to. I wouldn't consider a hedgehog a weapon, but it is animal cruelty throwing it, no doubt.

Wow, that'd be great... to be in jail for five years for throwing a hedgehog at a kid

*thinks about the many things Sonic has destroyed* Surprised he wasn't charged for assault with a deadly weapon. :smallwink:

Great article, made me chuckle.

It's animal cruelty if it was still alive. And if you can't use something as a weapon yet, figure out a way that you can.

Exactly! Did the teenager get thrown? No.

I strongly doubt that the hedgehog was alive when he threw it. Hedgehogs curl up when you try to grab them, don't they? Or am I confusing them with porcupines? Either, way, if it were alive he'd have ended up with a fistful of needles when he tried to grab it.

I don't think this really counts as "assault with a weapon" at all. You can't kill someone with a hedgehog unless you can somehow convince them to hold still and then jab them in the neck with the hedgehog until you get a quill through the vein.

Besides, you can't throw a hedgehog at any great velocity. They are not the most aerodynamic creatures on Earth.

Then...how aerodynamic are humans?

Heh heh. We're (sort of) Talking about aerodynamic stuff and I'm listening to this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4mwCs6yOuUU

It's assault with a weapon, not assault with a deadly weapon, assuming they are different things...which I'm not positive of.

Anyone else notice the caption to that hedgehog picture in the link?

This isn't the worst case I've heard - my friend's dad is a lawyer, who was defending this guy who was charged (among other things) with assault with a weapon after he threw a sandwich at his girlfriend. I wish I was making this up. Needless to say, that charged was dropped so fast it made a hole in the floor. But someone was stupid enough to charge him with it in the first place.

I feel sorry for the hedgehog, though if it was alive then (at the very least), the drop wasn't far after initial impact.

I ensure that all ammunition for my chinchilla launcher is not only well trained, but willing.

It's hard to say whether or not the hedgehog was alive or dead. My brother owns one and claims they can survive a fall when they're curled up into balls. On the other hand, another webpage I found on hedgehogs say they have a very fragile spine.
