Yep a vs thread...
As for conditions they are equal level; know the other is there; are out for the kill; and start on he oposite side of a large forest.
What do you think?

Depends on what level they're at.

lvl 1 - 3 the ranger wins.

lvl 4 - 20 the fleshraker wins with support from the druid (possibly in fleshraker form for fun).

At level 1, the ranger might have a chance...especially if he goes archery.

At 3rd level+ the druid....hands down. At that level, he can entangle the ranger and destroy him with Produce Flame from afar.

5th level brings wildshape...game over for the ranger to try to grapple with even a black bear.

higher levels is silly to even talk about....there is a reason why druids are considered one of the most powerful classes in D&D...Nothing the ranger can do can even keep up with him.

Druid wins unless this is really low level. The problem is that the druid has awesome spellcasting, and wildshape. When a bear is shooting lightning bolts at you and all you can do is shoot arrows at it, you know you're screwed.

I was going to start at 4th level....

EDIT: I had a feeling that the druid would win hands down.

Would using the Shapeshifter Druid make things any more even? That wouldn't be as powerful as Wild Shape, and there wouldn't be an animal companion for the Ranger to worry about (eliminating spontaneous SNA would probably help a little bit as well).
