View Full Version : What to do with these stats?

I've got decent scores across the board with one really bad score. What should I play with this array? 15 15 14 14 12 7 Race will probably be Changeling. Books...most any book is allowed, but I'd prefer to avoid cheese.

There's always the old standby of Tome of Battle. 15 in strength, 15 in con for crusader and warblade, 15 in dex for swordsage, 14 in the other physical stat and the one mental stat that the classes use (charisma for crusader, wisdom for swordsage, intelligence for warblade) and distribute the lower ones as you please. Should make a solid character.

Most martial classes should be easy to play - Put the 7 in a mental stat, and play it accordingly.
In Int - Stupid
In Wis - Careless, low common sense
In Cha - Gruff, unlikeable, can't hold his tongue.

Also, a caster of some sort might work. Warlock too. Put the stat in Str and rely on the Dex for attacking and such.

I'll probably end up with a Warblade. Maybe go Warforged instead of Changeling. Dunno yet. Either that or go with a Changeling Factotum.

But I'm worried about hving only mediocre Intelligence as a Factotum.

You're fine at any class. Casters with 15 in their primary casting stat still get level 9 spells in time, so while your Save-or-X spells will be subpar, the non-save spells are still fine. However, normally SAD classes are probably somewhat wasted on you as you don't really need SAD; you'll focus on one ability with points, of course, but the difference will only really kick in very late in the game.

Since the array is quite balanced, a generally MAD-inducing class would be especially good under those (Cleric, Paladin, Ranger, etc.). You could try some Ability Stacking-build that gets multiple abilities to everything, such as a Swashbuckler/Corellon's Champion (or Shadow Blade) Dervish or one of those Deepwarden/Fist of the Forests/Swordsage AC stack builds.

We're starting at level 3, so these builds may or may not actually see the light of day. I'm thinking at that level,a Warblade in Punishing stance can pretty much destroy enemies with ease.

Druid with dump stat in Cha.

Ye, look upon this advice with awe. For it is good, such that it bore mentioning twice.

Those stats could make a decent Rogue. Dump either STR or CHA, depending on wheter you want to be a conman or a thug.

I was allowed a re-roll, and got these (better?) stats: 15 14 14 13 13 10

Equivalent to a 32 pt buy I guess.

That'd make a decent Rogue, a fairly good Wizard or Druid, or a competent Fighter or Ranger.

But, I think it could make a pretty good cleric.

Yeah, be a cleric, put 15 into wisdom, 14 strength and constitution each, and the rest depending on what role do you want. Although with these stats you can't go wrong with any class. Well, apart from those that fail even with eighteens all across the sheet (you know who you are).

I had (briefly) considered Monk...

Druid with the original stats, putting the 7 into wisdom. If you put everything you've got into boosting that wisdom score.... you might end up with a pretty reasonable character.

Beverly Hills Druid rather than ninja.

Can the new stats I have make a decent Swordsage? It'll probably fitmy character concept better.
