What does it do, besides triggering/enhancing power effects? Does it have any effect on its own that I missed?
Because some monsters (such as the skeelton) have powers that mark opponents, but no abilities that affect marked opponents.
Also, whenever an ability (any ability, not just on the baddies side) says "marked creature" does it have to be YOUR mark, or do, say, the Fighter "marked creature" triggers work off the pally's marks too?

Thanks for the help

Marking gives the creature -2 to attack anybody but the creature that marked it.

This would probably been a good question to pose on the 4e simple Q&A thread. (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=83321) which is stickied at the top of the page for your convenience.
