This week's theme is...

Anime/Manga

That means you will be drawing:
1. Anime/Manga characters in the OOTS style
2. Characters from the OotS universe cosplaying (dressing up) as Anime/Manga characters.
3. Characters from the OotS universe rendered in the anime/manga style.

And of course, there is going to be a First through Third place of the following:

Best Character
Best Group (>1 Person = Group)
Best OotS Character as a Anime/Manga Character
Best OotS Group as a Group of Anime/Manga Characters
Best OotS Character in Anime/Manga style
Best OotS Group in Anime Manga style

There can be only one…Best Overall award.

And, of course, the Roland’s Choice Award will go to the avatarist's creation that most appeals to my, admittedly whimsical, sensibilities.

There will probably also be a Super-Secret Guest Judge's Choice Award, which is exactly what it sounds like.

Every entry must include a bolded introduction as to what category you are trying to enter in.

You can draw generic anime characters under "Best Character.". Or, you can do the OotS characters in anime style - there's a specific category for that (two actually - individual and group OotS).

Well, it went through a series of revisions before going here, so I guess it's not really my absolute first, if you want to be picky. And I was getting coaching and feedback from Earin at various stages during the creation process, but it is the first I've put up here.

Hrm, it's been quite a while since I made some OOTS art. I guess they didn't come out bad. I'm a traditional OOTS artist, so details and shading aren't my goal. Also they are avatar-size, since they were made before I saw this topic.

Here's a rule of thumb: you can expect the results of an IA contest before the next one closes. So in this case, sometime prior to the Oct. 31 close date for the Halloween Contest.

To be more specific about the present system, we're:
1. Starting a new contest the same day an old one closes. (So there's always a contest open for drawing!)
2. Allowing about two weeks of drawing time for each contest.
3. Getting awards posted about a week to a week-and-a-half after the contest closes.

So far the feedback I've been getting suggests people are really enjoying this format. Of course, if anyone has any comments or questions about the IA contest, feel free to PM me.

As I've noted before, results will be posted before the next contest closes. Which in this case was slated for Oct. 31 (so we're still not there yet!)...

That said, I've extended the time for the Halloween contest an extra two weeks to Nov. 14, so that's the new "deadline" by which you can expect results from this contest.

I know some people are eager for results and others are eager for trophies, and I'll get them all out to you as soon as possible. There is a rough schedule for the IA contests now, which I've outlined above. The board change-over has altered things slightly for this contest and the Halloween Contest, but other than that, you can expect results sometime before the following contest closes. If I have trophies before then, which should usually be the case, I'll post them. If I don't, which may occasionally happen, I'll post the results and the trophies will follow.

Having taken over this operation when it was 3-4 contests in the weeds, getting things running on some kind of schedule has been important to me, so the implication that I was being lax kinda irked me. (For the record, it was the "Uhhh...Yeah..." that did it. ;) )

I suppose having played along through those contests, you have good reason to wonder when, if ever, results/awards are coming out. So I can see where you're coming from. I'm glad people care enough to demand results. :)

Bottom line: never fear - results and/or awards will be coming soon.
