Prerequisites

Int 13, Evasion.
Benefit

You may put your level+5 ranks into a skill.
Normal

Without this feat, you are limited putting your level+3 ranks into a skill.

Is this feat balanced? Its intended use is to qualify for prestige classes earlier.

It's intended use is exactly why it's not balanced... Presitge classes are strong, and access to them at lower levels can be brutal on balance.

Yeah. Most PrC's are level-bound based on their skill requirements. This feat would permit, oh, a Human Monk-2/Rogue-1/Ur-Priest-X - which would mean 9th level spells at character level 12. Breaking the skill rank cap like that isn't balanced.

Yeah, this is akin to taking a feat that would raise your BAB or your HD: it's a bad idea that's inherently overpowered.

Wow, something I can actually agree with Jack on. Cool.

A re-write can solve the problem...

Skill Monkey
You are quite adapt at a range of skills.
Prerequisites: Int 15, at least 5 ranks in 4 seperate skills
Benefit: You gain a +2 bonus to all skills you have maximum ranks in. If any skill falls below maximum ranks, or you ever have less than maximum ranks in at least four skills you immediately loose this bonus.

There... it not only increases the prereq's, and makes them sensable (Evasion? I figured this was to limit it to rouges but... really?), it avoids the whole "Im level 3 with enough ranks the qualify for some PrC already!" cheese.
