I, The Guru Llamen, being of sound mind, physical health and devoted spirit, do take pleasure in being the first to cast my vote in this most illustrious of displays of democracy and meritous reward. If I may quote Will Durant's Lessons of History,

"All deductions having been made, democracy has done less harm, and more good, than any other form of government. It gave to human existence a zest and camaraderie that outweighed its pitfalls and defects. It gave to thought and science and enterprise the freedom essential to their operation and growth. It broke down the walls of privilege and class, and in each generation it raised up ability from every rank and place."

and indeed, I feel so enlightened and free today, informed and capable of casting my vote for the candidate I see fit and best representing my viewpoints and personal preferences in this most sacred of games still enjoyed by millions worldwide. It brings a joyous tear to my eye to say, with all of the conviction, passion and pride a member of my country and generation can muster,

"I vote for the Guardians of the Eldritch Blood."

My apologies. I miscounted. Still, I do wonder why he didn't actually vote, having brought up the point in the PrC Class Discussion thread.

Not sure why, but I only count votes here.

O: yours didn't get counted, as all you did was say that you voted somewhere else. It's as if you went to some random community center to vote instead of the polling place for your district. You can vote there, but it doesn't count for anything.

[Hyperventilates] Oh no, oh no, oh no, oh no, oh no, oh no....It's Florida all over again...when will the madness end?!!!?!!

It's your contest and your voting thread, dman, but I have to side with the interpretation that validates O's vote. If we were to properly extend the metaphor, the random community center would have been marked as a designated voting place complete with government sanction and would have been filled with fliers and brochures about why election day had been moved up two days. each personally signed by the mayor, governor and President themselves.* Just my two cents.

*Although, to be perfectly fair, it would also be completely empty save for two lost souls arguing over the mechanics of a world that doesn't exist and the proper behavior of nothingness in relation to itself and to a willful entity with the desire to disbelieve in it.

Hey, I actually follow my rules for counting votes:smallbiggrin:

There is a reason that this is labeled "Voting Thread". I will add that clause to the voting thread in the future, but I personally don't think it's necessary.
