A Living Stream appears as a sleek, swirling pillar of water. They are about 8ft tall and typically weighs about 5,000lbs. They are capable of producing limbs to wield weapons or manipulate items.

Living Streams speak Aquan and either Sylvan or Druidic.

Improved Grab (Ex):

If a Living Stream hits a smaller creature with its slam attack, it may make a grapple check as a free action without provoking attacks of opportunity. It need not make a touch attack.


Shillelagh (Su):
Any nonmagic Quarterstaff or Club wielded by a Living Stream is always treated as if affected by a Shillelagh spell.

Drench (Ex):

A Living Streamís touch puts out torches, campfires, exposed lanterns, and other open flames of nonmagical origin if these are of Large size or smaller. The creature can dispel magical fire it touches as dispel magic (caster level equals its HD).

Woodland Stride (Ex):

A Living Stream may move through any sort of undergrowth at its full speed without taking damage or suffering any other impairment. Thorns, Briars, and overgrown areas which have been magically manipulated (including those affected by its Nurture ability) still affect it.

Smother (Ex):

Any smaller creature pinned by a Living Stream cannot breath or speak. The Living Stream may choose not to use this ability, if it so desires.

Nurture (Su):

As a standard action, a Living Stream may surround any plants or plant creature within a 10ft space. They grow rapidly, as if affected by a Plant Grown spell (Overgrowth version), producing a thicket over the course of one round.
Plant creatures surrounded in this manner gain Fast Healing 5.

Seep (Ex):

A Living Stream may seep through soil, leaving no tunnel, hole, ripples, etc. It may move with speed as given on the table below. During or immediately after a heavy rain, it may move 10ft faster. It may not carry any equipment, not even its quarterstaff.
A move earth spell cast into the ground through which the Living Stream is moving flings the Living Stream up to 30ft in a direction determined by the caster, and stuns it for one round unless the Living Stream succeeds on a Fortitude save (With the standard DC for a spell of that level by the same caster).

Combat:

Living Streams most often enter combat against creatures who threaten groves under their protection. However, they will permit limited harvesting by anyone who takes little and plants to replace what they take. On occasion, they may even allow greater cutting under their supervision, but will usually demand something in return -- usually the casting of some spell, such as (Un)Hallow, Liveoak, Plant Growth, or Awaken.

When they do enter combat, they usually prepare by using their Nurture ability to create many deep thickets in which it may take cover. They may also surround trails with thickets, such that creatures attempting to follow the trail them become trapped in pockets and cannot retreat. However, if an attackers is exceptionally hostile towards their groves (such as by clearing land with fire), they may grow enraged and attack without preparations.

In combat, Living Streams prefer to wield quarterstaves. They take great pleasure in sundering metal weapons and tools, and will attack those who wield them first. They particularly dislike axes, although they still tolerate them so long as they are not used for excessive destruction. They are also competent unarmed combatants, and will grapple and suffocate lone opponents. Some Living Streams will offer quarter, in accordance with their alignment.
