View Full Version : Turtle's Mindscape, sort of [Mini-plot]

This is not supposed to be her actual mindscape. Of course. This is a (mostly) organized thing, designed by the spell for Draken's convenience as he does his grim job.

The mindscape created by the spell would be a library of endless shelves, or at least as endless as Turtle's memories and knowledge could fill. And because they librarian has slacked off a bit lately, there are a number of books in the wrong shelves, or in the floor, or burning in a trash can and warming up mind-hobbos for the night.

Draken's human form appears in this scenario, his right hand clutching a sapphire cane, and the fingers of his left hand running over the covers of the books in the many shelves.

Remembering. This is a form of visual aid and a far more interesting way of doing the altering than saying "I cast spell, spell does x, proceed".

----

So yea, the above.

Whatare the odds of Draken finding turtle's subconscious now?

Her subconscious mind, like her conscious one, is scattered about the library. But Draken will probably hear screaming, like a small child throwing a tantrum.

It's but a moment before the aspect finds the shelves of the texts he wishes.

Turtle's memories from Fanboy.

It also takes but a moment for him to notice the screaming, and move to it's source, still with the memories he wishes right next to him. For such is the nature of this spell. This thread can last dozens of pages, but all of it's events occur in but a few seconds.

The human mind is such a simple thing, lined like this, as if meant to be used.

The screaming is coming from what appears to be a very young Turtle, flinging books and generally throwing a tantrum.

Until she sees Draken. She looks frightened at first, and then angry, and then she charges in an attack. It's a barbarian rage attack, but it's being delivered by a small unarmed child. Not much of a threat.

This is the core of Turtle's identity.

How so very interesting.

Wizard or not. Draken is in the form of an adult man, so he is stronger than a child.

And completely, hopelessly, inhumanly uncaring and evil.

So he will kick Turtle's inner child aside with as much consideration as your average villain would give to the hero's pet companion.

Stand down. Puny being. I am in charge, for now.

Oh yea, the memories. Draken started to run his fingers over the first volume. When urtle and Fan met.

(Not so much I believe. This is more Draken reading her brains than anything else. The rest of the events are all pure fluff.

@V: Or that.)

((Shifter sickness broke most of her connections, Fan. Sowwy. You can feel her presence, but that is all.))

Turtle child is kicked, and keeps raging.

Fan and Turtle's first meeting occurred two-ish years ago when Fan was still a vampire and Turtle was still evil. She was in an emotionally abusive relationship with someone else, but was fascinated by Fan from their first meeting.

Hmm interesting...

Draken doesn't give much more than a stare to the raging child before turning back to continue 'reading' the story.

Meanwhile, a giant, aberrant scorpion appears before Turtle's inner child, trying to corner her.

Please, proceed with the backstory.

Turtle's core identity rages at the scorpion. That should keep her busy for a while.

Hmm... backstory... well Fan was supposed to have written the backstory, but he never did *cough*

Turtle used to capture victims for him. Anything to get his attention. But she would never ever make the first move.

Well. The wiki doesn't help a whole lot.

Make something up for this beggining. I don't need to change all the courtship. Just erase it entirely.

They were friends, and she harbored a secret crush on him. He turned good first, and then convinced her to as well, and after they were in GLoG together for a while, he kissed her and told her that he loved her, and they've been together since.

That works.

Draken keeps reading the memories until present days, and upon finishing his reading, a pen appears in his hand.

And now, let's move some things here.

Draken proceeds to erase that first fascination, attributing Turtle's turn to good to a sudden enlightment that Horrible was a horrible partner in most possible ways. He goes as far as taking other books, not memories, but feelings, and altering these from love, to loose friendship at best, mild annoyance at worst.

Draken then proceeds to change the following years of dates and what else to one sided, frustrated (and frustrating) attempts at courtship from Fanboy, always shunned by her, with varying degrees of anger.

Finally, he erases her memory of the marriage and alters most events that followed. Attributing the ocurrence with the Sapphire Slayer, in particular, to a commonplace attempt from a force of irredemable evil to corrupt her again, and the unleashed rage thereafter as well...Evil induced rage unleashing. Doh.

Finally Draken (player) actually missed the events leading to Turtle's current condition so these would be useful as well.

Turtle was attacked by Furore, one of the members of Intergang. It was a random portal-opens, bad-guy-emerges attack, so not much story there.

Do you need details of the Intergang plot?

The Turtle identity is still raging on the scorpion.

Draken
2008-11-21, 11:54 PM
Not much else is needed.

Well, One might guess Draken won't have to change a whole lot in this most recent development of events.

So he wraps up the last necessary details to make the fake story have the least amount of holes he can, and stare at the child again. This time with six, cold, dead eyes.

Kneel to your master.

This has two functions now. Calm the inner child, which might be needed to help her mind recover, I guess. And plant a hidden command word.

happyturtle
2008-11-21, 11:55 PM
The command pierces the rage. The child kneels, glaring in hatred at Draken.

Are you... The main aspect of her personality? Are you... In charge... Of this sewer?

The library and shelves melt away into wet rock tunnels, a stinky sewer, to be precise.

I'm in your heads, controlling your halucinations.

happyturtle
2008-11-22, 12:06 AM
It's mine. You can't have it.

The child tries to exert her will to bring the mindscape back to its correct form--neither a sewer nor a library, but a sunlit garden.

Her will isn't very strong.

Draken
2008-11-22, 12:12 AM
Draken's lower jaws clatter on each other, before the mindscape is allowed to change back to it's original shape, as the child wishes.

There you go. Now I would like to see someone who can keep a meaningful conversation... Or else...

Black clouds of locusts gather in the sky, shadowing the sun with their numbers and disturbing the air with their noise.

happyturtle
2008-11-22, 12:16 AM
The child bows her head, and then shapeshifts. The new form is a teenaged Rabbit, still kneeling.

What do you want from me?

Draken
2008-11-22, 12:22 AM
Interesting symbolism.

Your mind suffered a breakdown recently. I need an aspect of your psyche that can tell me how much of this small issue is resolved.

Do try to be helpfull. The beloved sister whose form you took sold her own soul in exchange for you.

Yea, not a big problem saying. He will just erase that recent memory when he leaves. Mindrape is efficient like that.

The mindblast did damage. The shifter sickness made it worse. It will take time for me to put the pieces back together.

Draken

The landscape will shatter into a miriad of glass fragments, of different sizes, some large, some small, thousands of them, tiny.

For the mind... Time is but an illusion. Even one as weak as your own.

Draken causes the larger and smaller fragments to consolidate back into a whole dome. Leaving only the tiny fragments, those that fill in the gaps, out of place, things not even a deity or a thing of eldritch power can mend.

You will wake up now. I presume... And none of this will be remembered...

So says... Draken Sapphiron Frosthand.
