Ok, so I've been running a mekton zeta campaign for a while now, and now I need some music for the introduction of a new plot twist.

After a relatively eventful campaign filled with politicking and betrayal, mecka attacks and genetically engineered catgirls, an enemy hijacked a number of mechs during the last session and their team is going to be part of a force assigned to destroy a couple specific models that were stolen, because they have "classified technology"

After the session, and their capture of a number of the people in the strike force, along with the remains of the enemy machines, they will be ordered to turn them into a certain out of the way facility, where they will be turning in the mechs, and invariably make some stupid mistake (if not I can have an NPC do it) causing the source of the "Classified Technology" to release itself.

The black ops groups that had been causing trouble will ultimately be discovered to be working on behalf of members of the government who understand teh source of most modern technolodgy (IE: after the last mech-war) which comes from a highly advanced, possibly sentient mech that was found by their government shortly after the war. The machine, as well as a number of mecha, some unmanned, will begin to move in and massacre the people as they enter.

I need some good music for this moment.

Super Robot Wars always has the answer. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gRPKQlpz5tI)

I don't really have the opportunity to go through the whole soundtrack right now since I'm at my parent's house for Thanksgiving, but that's what came to mind. That or possibly a Gundam song.

Obligatory Russian awesomeness. (http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=hKUONCgTRl0)

Might be something profound enough.

Please no rickrolling.

Both those SRW ones are tempting, Dark prison is probably a littel too upbeat/even. The russian one was good, put not appropriate for a breakout moment.

I found Kyoudai Kasuru Yabou (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=394jMLFcjNk) to be one of the most ominous songs in G Gundam. I'm pretty sure it was used for the Devil Gundam in several places, so it sort of fits.

Good to know I'm not the only one who remember that show.

There is also this if you really want your players to scream "Ohhh CRAP!!!!"

The first 15th seconds are the most vital part. Like the peace before the storm. In this case a storm that rains acid blood and chaos.

I support that G Gundam theme in this case. It's the most ominous.

Hey Tengu, I haven't played OG Gaiden. Does the Bartoll AI have a sufficiently ominous theme song?

Of course, for more actiony SRW villain themes, there's always the Inpectors (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wA7Q048G9oQ) or Evil Cybuster (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F2mWyt6nong).

Late response man to the rescue!

No. They use the generic music, and the theme during the fight with their leader is Hagane No Messiah. Not very ominous.

...what the hell does Hagane no Messiah have to do with the Bartoll? Other than maybe the name?

Who knows? It was a good background music for that battle, though. Made it feel heroic. Especially in OG 2.5, where it was the final battle.

I figured it would be the music for the "Rest in the Cradle" level where you fight Magus's servants and Machine Children. Or failing that, at the end of OGG when you fight

****ING SHU yet again

As Magus and the spoiler were the fake and true final bosses of Alpha Gaiden.

The fight with Shu has normal music up until you defeat all his cronies and/or damage him a bit (forgot which one of those), when it turns into Rocks. Kickass.
