So, I realize this is a half-decade or so late, but as almost no-one seems to have heard this, I thought it might warrent a thread anyway.
Turns out there actually was an lovecraftian musical. All attempts have failed, except one that was entirely in swedish and one that used an entirely different musical score, and even those didn't manage a second performance.

So, is there any way to obtain a viewing? Surely someone somewhere must be working on this...

Should try to get somebody to perform it. Or the playground could try to manage some larger scale get together and put it on :smallwink:

The musical is REALLY brilliant and funny, and "A Scary Solstice", full of occult christmas carols is pure gold. Alas, I fear, we won't get any performances soon, and since my musical skills are, well, not, I can't help you with your project.
It may even be for the better of humanity, after all, it could turn out to be from the same guy who wrote "Massa per Requiem I Shuggay", and performing it will summon Azathoth somewhere in the thrid act.

No, just Hastur.
And he was a perfectly decent guy from all accounts. He gave autographs, was polite to the performers, and gave helpful advice.
Really a shame his visage causes madness in a good portion of all those who see it.

"Byakhee, Byakhee" is my favorite track personally. I got this a few years ago and spam it on everybody I can.
EDIT: Also, it is being performed (http://www.cthulhulives.org/shoggoth/). Just sayin'.

Actually, the dublin performance used a different musical score (to avoid the wrath of Fiddler) and was two years ago.

Bunch of Christmas-themed Mythos songs. Or are they Mythos-themed Christmas songs?
But I don't know what they are from. Anyone know?

The lovecraftian fans produce a lot of parody songs and suchlike; Shoggoth is special for being a full length feature presentation.

The one that used an entirely different score was a one-off event for a games convention.
I should know, I wrote the score. (no idea where I put it though. My back-ups all disappeared, as they do.).
I also played Cthulhu.
But it was a fun musical to perform, and very, very silly.
