Probably one of the odder requests I've ever made online.
I was a counselor at a kids' camp recently, and my kids spotted a large, rather interesting-looking spider. (http://aslancross.deviantart.com/art/Bug-Mac-to-Go-124051720) Here's another pic. (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v312/AslanCross/Misc%20Pics/DSC04159.jpg)

I'd never seen anything like it before; I'm kind of used to plain-looking brown ones in this part of the world. I tried to look it up online, but "black and yellow spider" turns up so many results that look very little like this particular creature. So out of curiosity---if there are any bio majors, entomologists or people who are otherwise learned in this field, could you tell me what kind of spider this is?

This was taken in the Philippines in South East Asia.

It looks somewhat like a black-and-yellow argiope, although I am not sure.
EDIT: after looking at some real pictures of an argiope, no. It doesn't look like one.

Looks like a Giant Orb-Weaver, Nephila maculata

I was thinking Golden Orb Spider, but it looks a little too full in the abdomen for that I think.

The abdomen markings are right for a Giant Orb-Weaver
