I've never really gotten a good chance to watch the original cartoon shows, but I've watched both of the new movies and a few of the comics and I've got to say that are pretty amazing.

Personally, I think if I was a Transformer I would either

1). Turn into a satellite so that I could stay in orbit and get free TV and Internet forever... and occasionally fire my KillSat weapons down at people I don't like.

or

2). Travel to Mars and turn into a Universal Factory thing and cover the planet in solar panels and windmills, convert the energy into Energon and then find some way to sell the excess to Earth for lots of money.

I would turn into a robo-dragon. In my human form, the dragon's head would form my chest plate and its tail my awesome sword. When I sword duel people, the dragon's mouth opens and roasts them too. The velociraptor idea is also cool, but I'm not interested in two heads and the one-headed variety was done already by Dinobot, the ultimate anti-hero of Beast Wars.

My second choice would be a deathstar-moon thing. I would be covered in lasers and rail guns and nuke launchers and stuff, like a giant weapon's platform in space. And then, when aliens would get close to the planet, they would get to say "That's no moon! Its a Transformer!".

Oh! Flash of brilliance! I would be a cougar cannon! In one form, I am a cougar and a cannon, but the two combine to form my humanoid form. In "beast/vehicle" mode, I would shoot the cougar half of me out of the cannon half.

Me? An old creaky wooden galleon. Only I wouldn't be wodden. I'd be a creaky metal made to look like wood and I'd act just like wood in boat mode. In robot mode my main sail would be a great spear/harpoon, and the cannons would be on my shoulders and chest.
