View Full Version : Youtube video to mp3 converter?
Can anyone give me a link to a Youtube video to mp3 converter? I'd really prefer it if the website wasn't loaded with viruses/spyware/malware and such. I know the converters are out there but I don't know which ones can be trusted. I'd really appreciate the help :)

Whatever the web address of the video you want to download, type kick before it. That'll take you to a site that will let you download it (although, I've been having troubles downloading mp3's). Give it a shot.

If you're using firefox then this (http://www.downloadhelper.net/) has been pretty helpful for me, and I have been using it for about a year.

When I want to download videos I use Firefox's Download Helper plugin. Very handy.
If you just want audio, I recommend the Freecorder toolbar. It works like a normal audio recorder, with you hitting record and stop whenever you want.
Of course there are plenty of ways to directly rip the audio from a Youtube video, but they have the limitation that they mostly work with Youtube and only Youtube.
Whereas Download Helper works with a couple hundred different video sites, and is frequently updated. And Freecorder works with any program that produces sound, so it can be used with online radios like Grooveshark as well.
mediaconverter.org is what I use.
Although I may start using the Download Helper from Firefox

Copy the address from the webbrowser, paste it in to the 'Enter Video URL' line in the app. With the "Download video from Youtube" button marked, hit OK.
Once you have a copy on your computer, change to "Convert Video" and select the format you want to put it into.
Thanks all! mediaconverter.org worked beautifully
