I am rather embarrassed to admit that I only just now got it while on my way to the bathroom a few minutes ago. And I've been reading since before the first Parson's Klog... :smalleek:

I see "Fire Bough" every time I see her last name though. So the association with boughs and wands is pretty obvious. Fire is associated with magicians.

Basically, it's a vaguely mystical sounding name. I hesitate to read into her name's significance any further than that.

Yeah, the trick is to keep thinking about the “cutesy” child-like pronunciations. Say “fireball” like a kid that mixes “L”s and “W”s, and it will come out pretty much the same as “Firebaugh.” It’s in the same vein as “gobwins.”
