Notice the way it is made out of punctuation?:smallamused:
More seriously, and angel is a winged creature from heaven, that is so awesome, that horses literally go blind from seeing them.

Actually the bible never says angels have wings. European artists drew them with wings so that you could tell the difference between angels and saints

An angel is a DnD monster, always good aligned.

A common use of angels is the dreaded Gate Engine which involves Gating in a solar which gates in another solar which gates in...

Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Angel) and the dictionary (http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/angel) are here to help.

And the SRD (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/monsters/angel.htm), just for good measure.

They are messengers of God. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Angel) As to whether they have wings, that depends. Some old deciptions have them look just like humans. Most popular ones tend to add wings, halos or other symbols of divinity. Then again, some tales have them as multi-winged inhuman beings wreathed in flames, or gigantic abominations covered in glraing eyes. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Samael) So it's not a miracle if you don't agree immediatly; angels, like all mythic beings, are a varied bunch.

Angels are Winged (Pronounced Wing-ed). The Media portrays it as so, and the Media is Always Right.

Four heads, Eyes all over their body, wings, and sometimes blue, red, or another color.

And that's on a nice day, if they don't wanna drive you insane. :smalleek:

Considering all religious stories and myths are also a form of media, that'd be right.

Angels are a forum-inappropriate subject, given their religious connotations. Be careful here, peoples.

ἄγγελος, with the root ἄγγελ-. A Greek word that would be transcribed as angelos, or angel in English. The approximate definition is "messenger". It has been adapted to other uses for the English language and modern times, specifically religious (which, as noted by Magtok, is probably not good for discussion on this board).

I actually had a conversation like this a while ago, and I ended up settling on this guy:

I'm not referring to forms of media. I'm referring to The Media, which is Always Right. Especially Fox. Fox is Always Right.
Newspapers and Television form The Media, which is coincidentally Always Right.

Uh...whu? There is such a thing as too careful. I think, as long as we're discussing "what I think an angel is" instead of "this is definitely what an angel is", we're not trespassing on anyone's beliefs. After all, when I say "I think of an angel as this", I'm not adding "and you have to, too."

I think of an angel as an idealized person, embodying all the best aspects of what it means to be human.

Besides, angels are also mythical beings, and discussing them as such should be okay. Especially because they're incorporated to what these forums are mainly about - we just had a whopping competition concerning creation of new, fictional angelic beings.

Sheriff of Moddingham: Indeed. If this thread were over in Roleplaying Games or Homebrew, talking about fictional angels, that'd be one thing, but here, it's plainly a religious question.
