View Full Version : Aspiring Artist Seeks Attention

Because I'm addicted to comments about my art, be they good or bad, and because there doesn't seem to be a general art thread around...
The first pic is of the current party in my friend's campaign, and the second picture is of my character, Solace.
I'm working on some concept pics for my own setting... I'll post those later...

GENERAL ART THREAD ON PARADE (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?p=7973228#post7973228)
You're stuff's looking pretty good, I would say, just needs practice mostly (and looking at references of people, it works wonders, I'm just too lazy to do it :smalltongue:). Specific things:
Guy on the left is looking good, although I can't really tell where his hands have gone. B-
Next along looks a bit off to me; the mouth is too low, hair too stiff etc. Try mussing up the hair a teeny bit? De-squaring the jaw would be a good idea too I think. The upper left (my left) arm is a fair bit too long as well. Pretty good posing overall though.
Uhh... not sure what you're going for with the next character... looks a bit too chunky in the boot area though.
Last along, she looks very cross-eyed, that's the main thing. Pretty ok other than that I think.

... Yeah, I think I was too lazy to actually look for that thread.
Your right about the first character's hand(s). I sort of tried to hide them from view.
The second character is actually a magical robot (the proper name is "Klockwerk Doll"), constructed specifically to look like an anorexic teenager. I probably should have made that arm shorter, of course.
The third character is... to quote my DM's race sheet, "An ethereal being which takes the form of a whirlwind, which contains seemingly random objects which are actually tied to the being's death. They are known as 'Ragamuffins' in folk tales." The boots... yeah, they could be better.
I always have trouble with eyes. I'll try and correct the cross-eyes in future drawings.
