Has anyone had any experiences with Binauaral Beats (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Binaural_beats)? I've tried the different frequencies, and they all seem to work. But, I've seen some for sale as MP3 files that are supposed to work like anti-depressants, stimulants, etc. But, I'm not sure if I'd want to buy them because I'm not sure if they'd work

…I use them to tune (in orchestra, etc.), but that's about it.

I've used binaural beats as well as other brainwave entrainment products for years. I began using them mostly to help me relax as well as to help with sleep and I found them to work really well. Most of the recordings I've used recently have all been MP3 files from the Unexplainable Store and I have found them to be really good.
I haven't bought specific binaural beats to be used as an antidepressent or as a stimulant but I do think they can work that way. For me they take me "out of my head" and consequently I find that they not only relax me but take me out of the "fight or flight" mode which can be really stressful and depressing. So I guess I would consider them to work as an antidepressent as well. It would be interesting to try some that are specifically geared to tune into a so called "happy" frequency. Here are some articles on the subject that I have found interesting... http://www.binauralbeatsonline.com/category/articles/

I don't know if it's because I've got poor hearing or not, but I found that they have only varying degrees of success on me. Basically, it all boiled down to how much I was thinking about it. If I was at peace, and not focused on anything, then it worked. If I was any sort of focused, not so much.
Incidentally, I just used BitTorrent.
