(See boldface text for summation)
I've been writing webcomics for a little while now, and I've got a couple projects going. (Most notably Prayer For Ruin at http://prayerforruin.smackjeeves.com/)
The trouble is, I've only got one artist and he is currently juggling three major projects in addition to his regular-person work.
The latest thing I have in the works is "the NEERD", a fantasy sort of serious humor comic in the style of a "Road to ..." movie, but instead of Bob Hope there's a cynical teenage boy, instead of Bing Crosby there's an optimistic and painfully cute girl, and instead of Dorothy Leamour there's a horrible, legendary beast. There are brief mythological parody interludes, but it has a continuous story for the most part.
In short (too late, really) I am going to try to turn "the NEERD" into a collaborative work. An artist will pick up where the previous one left off and draw as many pages as they wish (preferably fewer, so as to keep it moving). I am pretty sure we can get the comic hosted by Repercussion Comics, with whom I have been working closely, and I'd like to eventually get the individual issues into some limited printing with someone like Ka-blam. Any money that an artist would see on the project would be limited to the number of pages they'd drawn per issue in question per sale (all in theory).
Page/panel layouts are already constructed, but I am willing to work with artists who want a bit more freedom.
Only semi-competent to competent artists need apply.
