Our theme this month is...
Order of Cthulhu

My name is Roy Greenhilt. I was born in the Northern Lands, eldest of two children in our family manor. I felt, in my youth, an urge to adventure, and fulfill a legacy left to me by my departed father, a scholar of great depth of thought. I brought together a group of like minds. Had I known the horrors that awaited I'd have never included them in this venture. My nerve has left me until I cannot at times even grasp my quill, let alone my ancestral weapon. I must rid myself of these dread memories that plague my sleep with unconscious madness. Perhaps, once transferred to paper, these images will leave my mind. They will then be burned. If that is insufficient to bring me peace, perhaps I will cast myself into the flames next...


Note: If you are not familiar with the Cthulhu Mythos, aberrations, elder evils, the unnatural, and figures and scenes of madness and insanity are perfectly acceptable.

There will be a First through Third place award for each of the following:

Best Eldritch Avatar (anything roughly avatar size)
Best OoC Avatar (as above, but OotS based)
Best Aberration (any unnatural creature)
Best Cyclopean Scene (anything larger than above)
Best Rookie Entry (only applicable to those who have never entered these competitions before)
And, as always, the Best Overall award.

I'll also voice my opinion on which entry is the most kick-awesome in the form of a VT's Choice Award, which may be anything that tickles my fancy or was shamelessly tailored to my tastes (I approve of shamelessessness).

Rules

1. All entries must be posted by the stroke of Midnight on Halloween night, Eastern Standard Time.

2. Every entry must include a bolded introduction as to what category you are trying to enter in.

3. Every entry must include an itallic introduction as to what your entry is.

For example:
Best Cyclopean Scene
The Opening of the Necronimicon

4. Do not use spoilers. It makes the judge's job that much harder, and they may do you harm.

5. Only the avatarist who created the avatar may submit it.

6. Please do not quote images. The entry/name will suffice.

THIS is the antithesis of that: It believes in absolutely no idea, feels no emotion, only works towards nihilism because it is its nature to do so and emits an miasma that is basically anti-magic and a universal sterilizer of all life energy, belief, meaning and idea. It is nothing but an omnipotent shell, that is nothing but an endless void inside. It is The Empty One.

Back in the early days of the Cybertronian race, Primus allowed his children to reproduce via 'budding'. When this process was re-adopted by the armies of the Liege Maximo, it had an unintended, secondary effect--the Swarm, which swarmed about and consumed all life in a desperate bid to 'complete itself.' The Swarm, finally defeated by the Matrix, may or may not have depending on who you ask become the Vok, set up prehistoric Earth as an energon-rich experiment, made stone henge and a bunch of references to the Illuminati, and declared war on a bunch of filthy cybertronians who had the gall to show up and start killing each other in the Vok's petri dish.

*cough* Yeah I only got the first half of that from TFWiki. I never read early 90's comics! I was a toddler! But the Vok made their impression during Beast Wars, yep yep!

Well, it took an hour or two to make the first version. Then I heard VT whispering in the back of my mind, urging me to make one horrific alteration to my art. So I spent ~30 minutes polishing it, adding the frame, the doll, his tail, adjusting the letters, and about 1 minute making that change.
I still keep thinking of new ways to improve it, so it might get a bit more work done on it.

Although I think multi-headed monstrosities with the claws of a tiger and a body of a leprechaun(totally random) seems like cool fodder to work with.

The reason they fused the owl with the bear is because the bear is almost entirely blind whereas the owl can see stuff.

Look, sorry I've taken so long with the trophies, but i had one set back after another and then Christmas, over which i've mostly been away from my computer, anyway, if you need to complain could you complain to me, since its my fault, i'm sure its really starting to annoy VT.
Also you can expect the trophies in the next few days i've just got to dig up the files and make sure everything's done

My sincerest thanks to the judges, and to Licoot who volunteered his time as trophy maker during the busiest season. The trophies will be added as he is able.
