To put it bluntly, I need somebody to draw a custom knife for me, since I have no artistic skill at all. I intend to have it made for me by a certain company as a gift for a friend.
Now, I can't describe this too well, as I'm going off a vague description from a friend and my own imagination, but I'll do my best and hope that I'm not too vague. Anybody taking on this project will probably be subject to being requested to make annoying changes from me realising that the image in my head doesn't look right on paper. Also I'd ask, if possible, for it to be drawn to scale.
Now, for the actual description...
A long, thin blade. About seven inches long, one inch broad at the crossguard. Slight distal taper; the blade should be around half an inch broad at five inches along. Diamond cross-section, maybe with a fuller on each side for the first two or three inches. Fairly simple blade.
The main problem here is the hilt. You see, the hilt has to be in the shape of a cat. I've got a basic idea for how to make this work (see below) but am open to suggestions.
The entire hilt, including pommel, would be (I think) about four and a half, five inches. Maybe a little longer? The pommel would be the cat's head, the grip would be its body. My problem is the legs. I'm thinking, have the front legs curled up. It'd result in a curve towards the hand, somewhat like a falcata's (http://www.aceros-de-hispania.com/image/iberian-falcata/falcata.jpeg) hilt.
The problem is, how to fit in the hind legs? Free reign given here.
The cat of the hilt should have two tails, forming the crossguard.
I'd appreciate it a lot of somebody could help me with this ^^; either post here or just send me a PM or something...
