Well... I did. A couple, anyways.

What size drill bit do you use? Also, do you have an advice for doing that with dice that aren't d6's?

I haven't tried it with anything other than d6s yet, so the only advice I can give is: don't bother with a "jewellery drill" or "mini drill" or "hand drill" or anything like that, just invest in a proper one. It'll be worth it :sigh:
I think I was using a 1mm drill bit, but that was a pain with the too-big collet, so I switched to, iirc, 2mm. It was fine, even with the mini d6s on the cross.

I was just going to use the woodshop at my college for a drill. Hope they have that drill bit.

If I did the Dice Cross then I would have set up the numbers like those "paper fold'em yourself dice"

324

I intended to do that, but it looked better symmetrical (and it doesn't stay right anyway)

ARGH! :smallfurious:
The clasp fell off the blue one, so I have to do it AGAIN... again.

But at least you have the practice to improve for later. This is a very interesting thread. The neatness of the necklace, both metrically and enthusiastically, is pleasant.
I wonder if a glue could hold the dice together in such a way that it does not interfere with the loop.

I don't know that putting the beads on in the same pattern over and over again is all that good for practice :smalltongue: But at least I'm getting better at tying the clasp on, I guess...
Metrically and enthusiastically pleasantly neat? Thanks, I think.

Neat in the sense of form and shape. Neat in the sense of a positive approval.
You are welcome.

Heh. Thanks, then.
Nearly finished restringing it again :smallsigh: Curious to see how many beads I couldn't find.
edit: 5 of each of the two outer beads, so 10 all up. Dang.
edit mk. 2: Wellup, it's all fixed again. Here's hoping it stays that way...

Possibly due to the (false) belief that D&D (and RP in general) has strong ties to Satanism and the occult.

Well at least three of the dice aren't showing 6. :smalltongue:

Awesome idea, Serpentine! I agree that it's defintely "metrically and enthusiastically pleasantly neat" :smallwink:
I especially like the practice one. Maybe it's just my personal taste, but I much prefer simplicity in stuff like this.
Why so many different colours in the cross one? Again; maybe it's just my personal taste, but I think it looks a bit chaotic. Cool, but chaotic.
Definitely worth sacrificing dice for, in any case!

Damn it! Now I'm tempted to do my own dice necklace with three dice set on 6. That would be too awesome.

I won't send the inquisition after you, so long as you promise not to do a cross. :smalltongue:

Hmm... Dunno, it's still working for me. Try copying the URL into a new window. Why so many different colours in the cross one? Again; maybe it's just my personal taste, but I think it looks a bit chaotic. Cool, but chaotic.Cuz the gaming store didn't have 6 mini d6s the same colour :smalltongue:

And I thought about doing that, but I decided it was too trite :smalltongue:

And you managed to find the lonely little d12 a home, too. How considerate of you.
Looks awesome, by the way.

I counted the numbers while I was scratching the icky blue paint off, and I still assumed it was a d20 :smallconfused: Must've been the whole doing-it-after-midnight thing...

Haha, best use of a d12 I've seen for a long time :smallwink:
I'm not sure I like the wire over the die. It looks weirdly... unfinished, somehow.
It's great colour for jewellery, though. And I like the colour composition of this one

Hey guys, how much do you think I could sell each of these for? The dangly d6s took about 3 hours to make, while the d12 one (which I prefer) took about 1.
Also I broke 2 screw bits in the process :smallsigh:

There's a bunch of geeks out there, so supply and demand. My personal demand analysis says anywhere from $10 to about $20 depending on which subset of geeks you get ahold of. If you can find a way to mass-market these, your profit margins would increase due to the sheer volume of your sales. (Howerver, your gaming time may suffer for it. :smalltongue:)

I'd give you $20 for that D12 pendant right now... Well, if I had $20 that is.
