Posting the work of a friend of mine, to which I contributed by spending a couple of week-ends helping with the stop motion shooting. This was her animation final project this semester at Parsons' Paris.

This is the story of Loomi a fish who wanted to fly. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ufGjU0h3H4I) A 2 minute short.

Created with hand painted cut paper, Dragon Stopmotion software and edited in Final cut pro.

It took countless hours to prepare, shoot, animate and make the sound effects (which included scrunching plush animals with beans in them to get the *tpsch* sounds when Loomi lands on things). Hope you enjoy!

Awesome, that is really cool. Though sounds might be a bit low and a bit "wierd" at some points. Also: dit it kill the bird?

The idea is that Loomi collected bird feathers for her suit. It was storyboarded but had to be cut, since shooting time was limited. There was an underwater sequence with Loomi figuring out how to make her bird-fish costume.

That was beautiful (even though I'm slightly allergic to childish voices, although that doesn't matter). Apart the already explained bird suit, the only thing about the story that I miss is just a tad bit more of the ending, mostly explaining what actually happened (even though I easily fill it in with my imagination).

Also, I find the bubble sounds in the beginning to be just a bit too loud, but that's also pretty minor.

And it's a good work, it really is. :smallsmile:
