I didn't notice any thread on it... apparently, Spielberg meets Paranormal Activity.
A bunch of peoples with cameras and so on, are on a quest to find a missing explorer in the Amazon. Mysteries ensue.
Additional infos (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_River_(U.S._TV_series)) and trailer (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HnaZxJIsnFE).
Impressions? thoughts? recommendations?

All in all, not bad. I mostly appreciate the security guy.
That said, in that situation, I would have long ago started paying attention the myths of the natives, and questioning the girl any time something odd starts happening.
Also, I'd divide into boat team and away team, and have slightly more firepower/protective devices(seriously, my initial prediction of "they should be wearing goggles/air filtration" has turned out to be dead on so far.)

See, I had to decide if it's worth watching.
The premise is interesting, but my impression is that's an idea good for a film or some TV episode, basically a short serie as this one. But the story isn't ended, right? there should be a second season.
This is strictly personal, but i find hard to mantain a good amount of tension and wonder, if the thing goes for too long. I loved the first season of Lost, but then, it seems to me that all those continuous mysteries were too far fetched.
I fear a similar thing for the River. I wouldn't like to watch a promising show, only to stop after a while only 'cause the production wants to make things longer than they need...
