Border Wars [OOC Thread]

You find yourself in the border city of Orlinian, just inside the nation of Leeran, a small merchant republic that borders three larger nations. These larger nations use Leeran as part bargaining chip, part pawn in their political games.

The border near Orlinian is shared with Castillara, a large Empire ruled by an iron-fisted monarch. Castillara has long been at war with another neighbor of Leeran, Navran, a republic that usually supports and protects Leeran. The third neighbor, Araus, is a kingdom that has acted opportunistically in the past, siding with either Navran or Castillara, depending on the circumstances.

Recently, there have been reports coming from the border regions of strange creatures harassing the troops stationed on the border forts. When the troops investigated, they were able to find nothing out of the ordinary, save slain men and damaged fortifications. Being unable to spare the manpower from the forts to investigate fully, the Colonel in charge of the area has hired mercenaries (you) to conduct a thorough examination of the attacks and find what has caused them. Because of the already high level of tension on the border, you have been told to stay on this side of the border and not cross into Castillarian territory. If you do cross over, you will be disavowed, and nobody will be coming to your rescue.

Well it's been a week and no answer from snake obsidian. That leaves us with four players: two defenders, a leader, and a striker. Certainly a workable party, but I'm thinking we may want to recruit one or two more players to join. We can still get the game moving, and introduce any other PCs down the road. Thoughts?

Hey guys, one last offer I want to make before we call this group dead, because you guys are some of the cooler people I've met on this board -
Next semester I'm working full time instead of taking college courses, so I'll have guaranteed free weekends with no homework to worry about. Would you guys be up for a live 4e game played through www.roll20.net ? Depending on the time zones and busy schedules involved I think it might be doable.
