Efdup

It may hint that dirtomancers make "dirt" golems. Seems they may be real muckrakers. Bogroll may have been a prodigy had he studied among them.

Discuss please.

I loved this one. Really loved. I could have the last panel as poster in my home.

Keep up the GOOD work

Well, that certainly answered a question I had in mind a while ago:
OK, life gives you lemons, you make lemonade; but what if all you get is a load of crap?

Poor Sizemore.
I can imagine why nobody would want to fight a Crap Golem, though. :yuk:

Certainly not at melee range...or downwind. And let us hope they don't take a page from the monkey handbook.

My .sig fits very well with the idea of a Crap Golem.

Loved the transporter room gag.

And the Tower of Efdup.

To me, that 350k shmucker spell looks like a blue generic battery!

However, back to the comic...I did give a little giggle at that masked wrestler in panel 4.

Well that explains the mystery of the dirtmancers. Good work as always

I'm reminded of the demon from Dogma.

I think I'm going to try only reading the pages every couple of weeks (if I can manage to not look at them when they're new) - I find myself wanting more story at a time! Then again maybe I should content myself with staring at the pretty art...

Panel 7, I think I'm in cartoon lust. All I'm gonna say.

I feel sorry for the dirtmancer.

I don't get the Tower of Efdup joke.
Is it supposed to be a joke?

Perhaps from "effed Up"?

Can't say I didn't love the last panel. Can't say it.

OK, did anyone else note a curiosity of the artwork, perhaps even a bit of symbolism, in the first panel? Wanda's in shadow, but Sizemore is in a small pool of light (presumably filtering through the trees). Interesting....

Oh, yes, and the transporter room was a nice touch.

I missed the transporter room and the wrestler at first.

The Tower of Efdup cracked me up, though!

I was curious if AZM would make a guest appearance.

Crap golems. Heh.

I feel sorry for Bogroll. Even the dirtmancer occupies a higher position as witnessed by the "sir"

That link's broken. You've two "http://" there. But trust the PA boys to ask that question.

You never know. Someone already caught my super sentai reference with the five colored dwagons. There are bits and pieces of other references that I've stuck here and there that Rob doesn't even recognize so who knows. There might be room in the Magic Kingdom for AZM cameos.

Very nice blend of humor and that DOOMED feeling!

Oh man...

You may have just redeemed yourself with the transporter.

Yes, I'm that much of a Star Trek geek.

Hmmm ... a blown up version of that panel would be quite nice. Maybe I should have posted this in the Blowing up Erfworld thread. Meh. Still hoping to see the panel with the heavies blown up too

Poor Bogroll! So much saddness in that ... one ... eye.

Can anyone explain the Grand Abbie reference? I went back to look at the Hippiemancer comic and I still couldn't quite make the connection.

Ok what happened between 12 and 13? It looked like she fell off of her griffon (oh sorry a gwiffon) but then in 13 she's just walking around all fine...

I think you may be confusing two of the characters. I'd really like to know how . . . and where I can get some of whatever it is. :smallwink:

Toric

Axorcist, I think "Grand Abbie" comes from the title of "Grand Abbot" or "Grand Abbess" but the Hippiemancers are informal enough to leave it as the common nickname "Abbie."

I might be wrong, but I assumed it was a reference to Abbie Hoffman (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abbie_hoffman), leading hippie political figure and author of "Steal This Book". As he was a leader of the hippie movement, the leaders of the hippiemancers would be named after him.

The transporter is funny, but I suppose it's not really for teleporting, because they use the green portal. It's probably some scanning/intrusion detection/desintegrating device. Otherwise anyone can just walk into Stanley's castle from the Magic Kingdom like that, right?

Wallyz
01-02-2007, 04:44 PM
I saw it as a hoffman reference.

First page! Whoo!

Really liked this one. Especially the portal/star trek transporter.

Random question: do they have lemonmacers in Erfworld? To make lemonade golems or elementals when life gives them lemons?

I thought the teleporter scene was really funny. Given that Sizemore is bald, he reminded me of Captain Picard in that panel.

I like Erfworld a lot more when it doesn't try to be funny. This was a very good episode.

This page of Erfworld, in the very last panel, is the first time the comic has made me laugh. Okay, it was potty humour, kind of lowbrow, but it was funny. In fact, this whole page was well done. It makes me want to read the next one, and gives me hope that the comic is on an upswing.

Dirtamancer = Earth Elementalist?

im sure they have random stuff like drizzlemancers, talkamancers, makeamancers, songamancers, and so on...

Man, some people are hardcore. "It makes me think the comic is on an upswing?"

It should be noted that Efworld and Order of the Stick are equal on the Giant's website. Not "Order of the Stick and its weird cousin that only comes down during the summer and eats paste." It's cool that you enjoyed #13 but for real, cut these dudes some slack.

That song is awsome, Thats probaly the best cameo (Lol, new word, using wrong prob) ever in any of these comics.
