The astral plane

A plane connecting all the planes in the great wheel, as well as an eternal silvery sky with tubular clouds. Spells of magical transportation usually travel through the astral plane, even if they're instantanious and can't bring you to another plane. Colored whirlpools exist in here, portals to other planes, the plane you need is visible from the colors in the whirlpool.

Voxendi and Karsen enter the astral plane through a portal which closes after them.

This way, Karsen

Voxendi starts falling towards one of the whirlpools in the distance.

Karsen hmms and follows Voxendi, looking around for danger.

In a couple of rounds they arrive at a red and yellow whirlpool, Voxendi falls through and enters the eternal staircase.

Karsen follows Voxendi.

Fualkner floats around in the void.

This is what happens when you take a leave of absence from the town. Don't do it, kids!

Fualkner swims towards a rift to the town.

Two sun-like shapes burn through the Astral Plane's edges at opposite points and slowly continue their path towards one another. At one end is the Town, Iames's temple, and at the other is a blackened demiplane. The ends of each disturbance burn like a candle, or more like an oil soaked cloth, wafting ethereal smoke into the plane.
