Sazuke: This is it then. Finally it begins... our first fight. A legendary Maia, a master wizard, against a young wizard apprentice. Who will win? I... am pretty sure I know who will win, but I'm not allowed to wager since I can influence the matches so... you do it. Prove me wrong or prove me right in this first match. Gandalf VS Harry Potter. Let the fight begin.

Sazuke throws two roses into the Arena, and both reshapes themselves. The white rose becomes an old man holding a white staff. The legendary Gandalf. The blue rose becomes a young boy holding a simple wand. Harry Potter. Both looks at each other, both knowing why they are here and what they have to do.

Castaras walks over to the betting stalls.

200 on Gandalf beating Harry easily.

She then takes a seat and watches the fight.

Cool...I didn't know, Gandalf was a Maia. I must have slept through that part of the Silmarillion.

If you make Harry Potter win, I will personally hunt you down. You have been warned.

Sazuke: *whimper* I won't. I'll make the match fair... well, as fair as a fight between the archetypical wizard and an emotionally unstable teenager can be. As for Tim... if you've delivered the request in the sign up booth, I am sure he will appear.

I'm rooting for gandalf, but I voted option number 5, because I think it would be interesting, and also prolong gandalfs wailing on HP

Gnome Barbarian

HP would so not even last a round agaisnt Gandalf

Cobra_Ikari
03-28-2007, 06:52 PM
...huh. So...*looks at his coins*...for the spread, I should bet on HP and sabotage Gandalf...but I can't make myself do it...

The drow enters the arena a tad late, and looks around. "Gandalf, eh? 200 gp on Gandalf dominating Harry." She says, and sits down.

Gnome Barbarian
03-28-2007, 07:25 PM
Hears the bet.

"OK got it. You think Gandalf is gonna get dominated by Harry...Ill take the 200 gp bet. Go Gandalf"

The gnome sits down next to the drow.

Mr. Moon
03-28-2007, 07:27 PM
The drow raises an eyebrow. "That's not what I said, you fool. I said that Gandalf would dominate Harry. Not the other way round."

Saurous

Saurous enters the arena, looking around.

"So...I guess I'll put 100 gp on Gandalf obliterating Harry?

Gnome Barbarian
03-28-2007, 08:01 PM
"Ok got it Gandalf being dominated by Harry. Dont get your ears in a twist.Looks to me like you will soon owe me 200 gp"

Holds back his laughter alittle thinking...Drow are so easy to get to anger.

Goblin Music

Mr. Moon

The drow glares at the gnome. She starts counting in her head up to ten to calm her down. She gives up at seven. "Damn. Gnome." Every word she says is strained. "Just. Listen. To. Me. I. Did. Not. Bet. On. Gandalf. Losing. I. Bet. On. Him. Lossing. Er, winning. Is. That. Clear?" Her hand is reaching for the glaive slung over her shoulder.

Half a peso on harry potter owning this fight >_>. There now all you Gandalf people will actually make a profit, just a tiny tiny tiny one. :smallamused:

Gnome Barbarian
03-28-2007, 08:18 PM
With a small chuckle.

"You should have said that before... We will call off the bet. I can see why you would change your mind about Harry winning. Gandalf is older and wise..."

Mr. Moon
03-28-2007, 08:20 PM
By now, veins are vissable on the drow's neck. "Yeah... good idea." She mutters, and returns her gaze to the battle scean below.

Gnome Barbarian

"Yeah defintly, Im Pinbar..and you?"

He puts out his hand.

"Wow this fight is taking forever."

Mr. Moon

The Drow looks surprisidly at the gnome. "No one's ever asked my name. I don't think I have one." She says, and blinks.

Cobra_Ikari

Aww...

...50 on the Drow earning a name before the battle's over.

inky13112
03-28-2007, 10:16 PM
Finally a bet with some decent odds

I'll put 25 on the Drow not earning a name, but possibly gaining an acronym or other special way of being referred to.

Cobra_Ikari
03-28-2007, 10:19 PM
I'll take that, provided epithets are considered "names".

inky13112
03-28-2007, 10:24 PM
Wait isn't "the drow" considered an epithet:smallconfused:

/confused about definition of epithet

Cobra_Ikari

...no, but something like "grey-skin" would be. I think.

This fight isn't a walkover. It isn't even a joke. It's an insult to the big G.

Narross

I will put my entire fortune, my nextdoor neighbors fortune and my uncles fortune on Gandalf.

I will then drink and be merry, knowing my money is going to increase by MANYMANY TIMES!

"You dont have a name? What do people call you when they are talking to you?"

He looks a little confused.

Supagoof
03-29-2007, 09:08 AM
I'll place 50 on Harry. He always seems to always get lucky against high powered wizards. Though even beaten Gandolf will just come back after a millenia of battlling with slightly longer hair.....

"You dont have a name? What do people call you when they are talking to you?"

He looks a little confused.

'Hey You' works fine. As long as you remember to use "Hey, Hey You!" when greeting.

Mr. Moon
03-29-2007, 10:26 AM
The drow shrugs. "I don't really talk to many people."

Gnome Barbarian
03-29-2007, 11:23 AM
"Why not? You should its a lot of fun. Especially messing with them Ill show you how? "

He smiles at the drow.

"You also need to litghten up...hmmm."

Mr. Moon
03-29-2007, 01:52 PM
The drow smiles at Pinbar (the gnome). "That might be interesting." She says.

Gnome Barbarian

"Names are very important to us gnomes...So I will call you..Barerfa if you do nor mind."

He looks proud of the name that he has come up with.

Mr. Moon
03-29-2007, 05:46 PM
"Barefa..." The drow repeats, trying it out on her tounge. She smiles. "I like it."

Bah hes just setting you up for betrayal! He whispered to me earlier how he was trying to make you feel liked, and then would cruelly betray you! Renounce the name he gave you, it will bring you not but sadness!!

Ba...erm...how do you pronounce that? I'm no good with names...

...anyway, we do care about you. If you don't believe me, I'll renounce my bet with Inky and say it again. I'm not doing this out of greed, you know.

Don't worry, I can't pronounce it either.

But don't most elven names involve a lot of hard to pronounce sounds like Issilgrth, and apostrophes? :smallconfused: It should be something like Mes' Nuh'Nem (pronounced "miss no-name.)
