City: Perth
State: Western Australia
Country: I think you can work it out.

Firstly, nice to see another Aussie here...though unfortunately you're on the other side of the island. Secondly, nice name. I have built up a reputation among my gaming friends for creating bad pun names. The first was a D&D Noeholls, a bard. Next I made a druid named Siph L. Uss (subtle, no? :smallamused: ). Later, LAN gaming on Rise of Nations, I called myself Mutheranpah (based on the great Atthualpah [or however you spell it]). Though my favourite name in that game was when in a game created by my more competant friend, Geoff, I classily called myself "Geoff's a ****", for which he booted me from the game...repeatedly.

*Glances over at 'Location' under avatar* Yep, that's about right. You can file me under the 'Austin, Texas' section. It is close enough.

Unlike Jensik I will not sell out my hometown to consider myself an Austenite (even though I am an Austenite). Mark me down as Lago Vista, TX.

Sure I spend 8 months out of the year in San Antonio for college, but even as far as my university is concerned my residence is in Lago Vista.

PS: feel free to list me under Austin. I don't actually care...

Well, I wasn't gonna do this, but my state is sadly under represented on here.

So I'm from Oregon, USA. However I'm really a traitor Oregonian because I consider myself "from" Washington. We're close enough to the border and far enough from any major Oregonian city that when we go anywhere or do anything, it's usually in Washington. I was born in Olympia, anyway.

From my one visit to VT, that doesn't surprise me. I believe it's the least populous state in the US. I wouldn't be surprised if that's because they still had snow on the ground in April! :smalltongue:

I'm joking, btw. It may be a small state but it's very pretty to drive around. Just too cold for this southerner...

Yay, I updated again. Added people, made some corrections, that sort of thing.

Also, I was curious and did some counting. Of the fifty states in the good ol' U.S. of A., we currently have 34 being represented. Not half bad really. And better than I had expected to be honest.

And since I currently had nothing better to do, I made a list of all the states that are the 16 states not yet on the front list. So get crackin' people. Sound off! Where are you AT?!?

Alabama, Connecticut, Delware, Hawaii, Idaho, Kansas, Maine, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, South Dakota, West Virginia, Wyoming

Now to dispel a few rumours about this fair country.

No I am not Maori.
No we do not all have a physical attraction to sheep.
No New Zealand's populations is not about 2000. It is at least double that.
And finally...
No New Zealand is NOT a state of Australia. Australia is however commonly referred to as 'New Zealand's West Island'.

The Welsh.

Well, I'd like to dispel some rumours about my country, too.

We're not terrorists, as the rest of the world sees us. In fact, there hasn't been a single Serbian terrorist. Ever.

We're not a 3rd world country. Belgrade is a really nice place to live. Standard european metropolis. I've lived in NYC for a year, and I couldn't wait to get back home.

Also: Who's nutcases? D=

edit: I thought I should give at least one example. Generally, no matter how hard and scary anyone (especially bad guys, especially bad guy gansters or equivalent) might be, as soon as they piss off someone from that part of the world they are doomed. They're usually both more honourable, and a lot more scary (and possibly sadistic) than anyone else. The most recent example I've seen is The Italian Job (latest version).

You see food form different parts of the US tastes completely different.
You almost have to treat each state like its own country to really appreciate the variances in food development and taste.

Pizza is a good example of this. New York tends to have more thinner crust with larger toppings and sometimes a sweater sauce. And in Chicago you've got your deep dish pizza, sometimes with different kinds of cheese and less sweet sauce.
If your out here in LA, you can get chicken that tastes differently at every place. Its all in the preparation.
I ask of you, do not judge us Americans based on one city, for our nation is very diverse.

Not on topic, but what are 'blue laws'??

As far as I know, they're laws here in the US (don't know about elsewhere) that deal with places being closed on Sunday since that's the traditional day of worship for Christians. They're not that common as far as I know, though I think alcohol sales are still limited on Sundays.

EDIT: The great Wikipedia has much to say on the issue (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue_Law).

i doth protest, all american food does not suck! there's some really great stuff around. i've been to italy and croatia many times and as such I am aware of the calibre of food around that area (freaking insanely delicious!), but you can still find some great food in the states, as i'm sure you can anywhere. just have to know where to look...

though it may help to have an italian mother and a croatian father who both live to cook :P

in short, if you want good food in the states, a sure-fire solution is to import an entire slavic family. taking all offers, bidding starts a $4 for slavic family installment #1 (me)

Nottingham, England. The birthplace of Robin Hood... Also known for its 19th century lace market... Nah, I think I'll stick with the Robin Hood thing. That's in the East Midlands of England.

Well, I used to live in California while I was in high school, but am currently attending college in Virginia.

I usually spend my summers in China, though.
