View Full Version : Epic Hobby Projects

I'm really craving to undertake some kind of super project, I've discovered that procrastinating loses it's appeal when there are no deadlines left. Last year I was making a map for a MMORPG to channel my creative urges but I'm kind of running low on ideas at the moment.
Show us your creative exploits here, stuff you've built, painted, or made in some way. I'd like the inspiration plus I'd like to see what you folks create in your spare time.

I draw, paint, write and sculpt.
Right now I'm working on painting some warhammer mini's a friend gave me. I'm trying to do the gift justice, but trying to paint detail work on an army of over 40 miniatures is pretty daunting.
I've always wanted to learn how to weld or tattoo, though.
The Necron army I'm painting (nicknamed the Army of Bill), I have no pics of, as my camera is being stupid and my phone can't exactly do 1 inch tall miniatures justice.

Try to learn spellcasting, that would be a truly epic hobby

Necromancy is up there, too.
I figure if I can just get a skeletal animated horse out of it, I'll be happy.

I have a DeviantArt profile. That's all the stuff I have that's worth showing, and a lot of stuff that's not. You're welcome to it.

What the hell? When I click into this thread, I get the following:
The server eport.maricopa.edu at Ashly Lorrin Hickman's ePortfolio Publishing requires a username and password.
Warning: This server is requesting that your username and password be sent in an insecure manner (basic authentication without a secure connection).
Is someone's epic hobby "screwing with my head"?

Hellpuppi, I think you have to make that drawing of yours public.

http://www.superiorinteractive.com Website of Superior Software, publishers of the "Repton" series of games. The latest download, Repton Spectacular, includes a good number of levels I created, and still more are coming out in a future release, perhaps next month.
http://www.geocities.com/zarathustra47/Athribar.html Blank page at the moment, but starting later tonight I'm going to be putting the beginning of my novel The Adventures of Athribar up at that address. (I've finished writing it but am now just starting re-writing. Hence why there isn't anything up yet.)
http://www.geocities.com/zarathustra47/Game/ Home of the Slathian Kingdoms, a world I've created for an RPG. The page contains links to the characters and story-so-far of the game.
http://www.geocities.com/zarathustra47/Atragam/ Another created world -- this one is a more ambitious project and even includes some created languages. It's a setting for a story or stories that I hope to write some day. Feel free to explore the site, but you may be disappointed; there's a huge number of gaps in what I've actually got round to writing up in detail.

I go with some people in my church to help at soup kitchens.
Feeding the hungry, now thats an epic hobbie!
On a lighter note, I'm presently working on a D20m campaign set in the wild west. It's fun 'case as far as I know, nobody's ever done this with the d20 system before. (but the again, I have'n read d20 past, so who knows?)

Ah, apologies, I hate the server they put that on. It's on a school publication thingy. :smallannoyed:
What's weird is even if I put the pic on another site that's my own, I can see it, but no one else can. Kinda useless to have, especially since I don't even have most of my drawings anymore.
