HELP! My Avatar has a White Background

Can anyone here give me some tips for how to get my edited avatar, to lose its white backgorund.

I'm working in Paint and think that there's a simple way to sort this problem. (like transfering it to Paintshop Pro or something)

Take a Print Screen of the forums, copy the colour in the vicinity of the avatar, and then Fill the space around it in Paint with that colour. It's not a perfect solution, but it works.
