My new campaign setting nerfed spellcasters...
they only get up to six level spells...

It finally happened.

......So...what? Did it "work", over-nerf, what?

I'll find out in two days...
the real problem will be scaling psions the same way, since I'm not determined enough to figure out how pp/d are decided.

any ideas on that one?

You could just do what i do, and not use psionics.

What do you mean by "spellcasters only get up to sixth-level spells"? If you mean they can only learn up to sixth-level spells, with levels 7-9 available for metamagic, just cap the psions at sixth-level powers and continue scaling the PP/day as normal. Not sure how to deal with "powers known," though.

You could probably re-work the Bard to make them the only spellcaster in the game...just change those Bardic music abilities to something else.

not gonna happen with the bard ability.
and no, I don't mean only using 7,8,and 9th level spells for metamagic.

Nonepic spellcasters only get up to 6th level spell slots.

It appears to have work out well (up to fourth level)
These spellcasters get higher slots faster early on, but slower at higher slots (if that makes sense), and a lot more powers per day. That way wizards aren't lame at early levels, and aren't ungodly at higher levels (is the theory)

To make it work, I had to abolish the Psychic Warrior, since he would have been stacked, and I didn't know how to adapt his progession.

Also, just to make conversation, under this system, Hexblade doesn't look too bad.

Wow, I'm actually making a campaign setting as well and decided that 6th level were going to be the limit. How has it worked out for you?

It appears to be working great.
I just kinda looked the other way as far as monsters with spell-likes...
I don't know if that's fair, it hasn't come up yet.
