Marvel zombies is already slowly being suffocated until sales finally went low enough no one cared. I do not need a thematic spin-off. You can only take so much advantage of a short lived idea.
I mean, how will this show itself to be at all different from zombies? They have fur instead of undeath. Um... It's a new... universe? Kind of insulting, especially because it was greenlighted because a fan said it would be cool.
I'll at least withhold final judgement until it comes out, though.

No. Just...no.
Zombies were cool, zombies were neat. Everything is NOT better with monkeys.

Take your stinking paws off me you damn, dirty apes!
...
Yeah. I'm not exactly thrilled by this proposition. Whats next... Marvel Clowns? Gender-reversed Marvel? Geriatric Marvel? A marvel reenactment of 'Princess Bride'? A Marvel musical?
Bastards.

I know it was a joke, but geriatric Marvel could be a very hilarious one-shot or mini-series if it was done well.
It probably wouldn't be, but I still think it's a decent enough premise.

Didn't they have something like this with DC or something? I seem to remember something very similar.

JLApes (http://en.dcdatabaseproject.com/JLApe) also known as gorilla warfare, why's you think there was a trope and this (http://www.superdickery.com/monkey/1.html).

Ah, yes, that's the one. I remember being confused about how they managed to to turn J'onn J'onzz into a gorilla even temporarily.
