Dragon is another OotS style webcomic! I, Phase, have been working on it for the better part of three months and am finally ready to begin posting! As is likely evident, the comic revolves around a dragon. What about the dragon? You'll just have to read and find out! The comic hopes to update once a week on Wednesday, with special updates every now and again. So scroll down! Relax! And read up!

World Information
On Wyverns:
There are two seperate evolutionary branches for wyverns:

Rigid Back: With an elongated, but very rigid tail and back, these aare much less manuverable in the air, though much faster, than their flexible cousins. They are generally medium sized speices, and have very powerful wings. Compared to other dragons, these are the most endangered, though through natural means such as being out-competed for food. Examples include: Brown Wyvern, Dwarf Red Wyvern, Blue Wyvern.
Flxible Back: These Wyverns are generally either small or very large and make up the majority of wyverns. They generally live higher up on sheer faces, as this gives them a safe spot from both humans and other predators. Their more limber movment allows them to access more areas unreachable by their rigid cousins. Examples include: Dwarf Blue Wyvern, Spotted Wyvern, Golden Wyvern.

This is great! The Jurassic Park art is amazing. You said you have a buffer. Does that mean that you have a schedule (so the buffer will help to stay on time, always)? How often do you update?

Ok. Phase takes a far more realistic view of Dragons then D&D (or as realistic as you can get when you're talking about dragons). In other words, Dragons are not magical. They don't talk, and don't have names. Just thought I should clear that up.
And yes. There is an impressive buffer, and Phase is doing a weekly update schedule – on Wednesdays, IIRC.
Expect another update or two tonight.
EDIT: Please disregard the "mad" face that was there before. It was totally accidental.

Festy is right. as evidenced by the prologue, in my world dragons are creatures just like any other. I've always entertained the notion that dragons once existed on our world. Not entirely seriously, but the idea of magical dragons just bugs me for some reason.

Because it gives others a feel for the comic before it's posted, and allows for a decent sized fanbase before the schedule kicks in!

By the looks of it, it's going to spoof Jurassic Park a bit but I think Phase is more original and creative and is developing his own story as is already evident.

Eventually. I'm aiming to have European dragons factor in at some point. But only Jerry will be a recurring (dragon) character. I actually have the mini-arcs set up for a while.

Nope. Jerry's body is in a catatonic state. The spell messed with those involved. Jerry's conciousness fit well in the brain of the dragon, give or take a magicoral campus or two. The extra senses and feelings, as well as the other intricacies of the human mind, overstimulated the dragon. It's quite sad, now that I think about it...

It could be for a number of reasons, it could be like the Princess Bride with interruptions or it could be a true story and the hobo's a unreliable narrator(or even the dragon in jerry's body:smallwink:... haha I doubt it, would be awesome though).

I think that spell made Dan gain telepathic-contact with Jerry since well otherwise they would not be able to talk to each other.

Anyway, I'm working on a plot map, and currently have the whole world mapped out, inch for inch...

The Dragon has no nerve endings in its tail, and is incapable of moving it's rigid neck in a manner that would allow it to see itself.

It's a weak explanation no matter how you slice it, but it's still an explanation.

Yes, all dragons are actually endangered, due to human hunting. For wyverns, rigid-backed wyverns are in a sharper decline.

Well, Jerry wasn't that smart beforehand, but he lost his capacity for spell, and lost a couple of IQ points along the way. But he was a sorceror beforehand as well, so he didn't need that much.

Poor Kobold's got rejected, I like the pacing with the comic, nothing's rushed which is something I need to do, a lot has happened in the few strips I've done for my comic.

I like the comic, but I just had to comment. That bear is really dumb.

He has the option to attack a sleeping dragon, or leave it. What does he do? Two stupid things:
1. He attacks the dragon, therefore asking it to kill him.
2. He attacks it via stepping on its head, therefore waking it up while doing practically nothing at the same time.

If never really supported the idea of nameless, characterless NPCs. They are easy to create on the go in things in which they are more practical (i.e. Video Games, Tabletop games, etc.) but not when it would be easy to just make a one-time character. I hoped to convey that young helmeted man's experiences in one shot, just as I tried to display the relationship between those two dwarves.

(P.S. If anyone can name the profession of those dwarves, they get a cameo. Yes, it is really hard.

Phase said earlier on that Jerry used to be a Sorceror, not a Wizard... They use Cha instead of Int for spellcasting...
